Hopes that everyone had a good holiday

Let's get ready for New Year 2004!!!

Well, the big day has come and gone. I was lucky enough to be off work yesterday the 25th, today and tomorrow. My family and I had a wonderful time. I don't think it could've gone any better-we exchanged gifts, had good food and a good time. I am truly blessed. How did everyone else's holiday go? I would love to hear.

My boys made out like bandits. They still have stuff that they've yet to open and play with. My parents spoiled them rotten. Believe it or not, my mother bought some clothes for them and they actually LOVED the clothes! Of course, their favorite shirt that they received has Cat In the Hat on the front. They got everything from scooters that Santa brought to them to a drum, piano keyboard, Fisher Price Power Touch notebooks, Home Depot tool bench etc. All I have to say is that they are extremely lucky little boys. As they were sitting amongst the wrapping paper and new goodies, I asked my oldest (5 years old) why was it that we were celebrating and exchanging gifts. He said, "Because it's Jesus' birthday." I was so proud of him.

My little ones and I are going to head to Wal-Mart for some after-Christmas looking here in a bit. I saw a pretty Christmas throw several days before Christmas, and I'm hoping that they still have some left (at a discounted price, of course!). If they do, I'll probably pick up 3 of them- One for myself, my mother and my mother-in-law.

When we get home a bit later, I'm going to let the boys ride their scooters outside and I'm going to start cooking again. We're gathering at my mother-in-law's house tonight for dinner. I'm responsible for the sweet potatoes, baked corn, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and chocolate chip cookies. I guess I should get off of here so that I can get to it!!

I certainly hope that everyone had a wonderful day yesterday, and now it's time to prepare for the New Year 2004. My resolutions?? Continue losing weight (I lost 30 lbs this past year!!!! Woo Hoo..) and continue with my education. Anybody else have any resolutions in mind?? I have to go for now. Take care!

Tell your eldest boy that he is wonderful! I got a really nice feeling knowing that kids these days aren't all in it for the presents only... Keep the meaning of Christmas alive!! lol
