So Much For The Super Bowl

This afternoon I got a call from R in dispatch. He wanted to know where I was in my trip to WI. I was in Lake Station, IN. He said he had a "hot load" coming out of a generator plant in Oshkosh tomorrow that needs to be in Indianapolis first thing Monday morning.

So now I will be dropping this load at the yard in the morning and picking up generators in Oshkosh instead. Ah well, such is the trucking biz. I really didn't want to go to ID anyway.

The bad part of this is I won't get to watch the Super Bowl as I had planned. Instead I'll be trucking. Oh well, can't win them all and bidness takes priority over football.

That'd be the good part to me (I don't even know who's playing so that shows how much I care or keep up with it). But if you enjoy it I'm sorry you'll be missing it. What us workin' folk hafta do for the $$$... :'(

Yep. I didn't feel so bad about missing the game once I found out what I was hauling. It was generators that were destined for the ice storm areas in KY, part of the emergency response to the wide-spread power outage. Somehow I always get just a little extra sense of satisfaction hauling those kinds of loads.

Not to make you feel worse, but you missed a great game.

Props & thanks to you, on behalf of Kentuckians.
