Some pointers on making movies on the pc and from a web cam

I now this will sound geeky but I can't help myself.

I wanted to post a small movie a made from a game I played on youtube but it's not as good as I would like it to be quality wise.

I'm wondering if anybody could give me a few pointers. If I am playing a game on the pc and I want to record  what I do is there a way to do it with a program or is there something built in?

Is there a way to link 2 movies together. Meaning I have 2 avi files and I want them merge to make 1 is it possible and if so how?

Anything else that could help me out I am a total newbie on this one.

Thanks a bunch

I know how to do that on a Mac.  You can use the iMovie production thing to splice and record from separate files.  What the equivilent program of that is on a PC, I'm unsure of.

Yeah I guess I should of mentioned it. I am using a PC with Vista. I would also like to add some voice for some commentaries while I am recording the game/movie.

Thanks

After doing more research on teh web it seems Fraps is my best bet.

I do not know if any of you as ever used this program, here is what I want to do.

I want to use my SNES emulator and I want to record myself playing a game. While playing that game I want to be able to hear the game music and sound and I want to be able to talk and record this talk as well. (I want to add my commentaries to the game while I am playing it.) Anybody knowif this is possible and if so how do I do it?

Thanks
