Open Theme Manager 3.0.  Click on settings and make sure the box is check that says I want to see advance options.  Now try to install a TM suite.  It should give you a drop down window listing the skins included in the suite.

well, it does, but like several posts on this forum, it doesn't apply all aspects of the suite like it's suppose to.  and i haven't seen any updates in a few months, so wondering, is it getting fixed?

for instance, just applied the flash system suite, no widgetes were loaded, all selected, WB didn't load, cursor FX didn't load, just the wallpaper

it varies between suites, but i haven't found 1 yet that actually fully works

ok, now the second time i applied it, it worked, except for the widgets

is it getting fixed?
Yes.

Having said that; knowing what suite you tried to apply, what it ws supposed to skin, and what it didn't might help.

I have the same problem. Apply a Suite, WB didn't load, cursorFX didn't load, just the wallpaper and the icons. The box "I want to see advance option" is checked. The second time i applied it, it doesn't worked. What can i do? Please excused, my english is very bad.

No need to worry.  :)

"is theme manager still broken" is a difficult question to answer, much like "are you still beating your wife". Whether you say 'yes' or 'no' you are still making an admission: "yes - I am still beating my wife" or "no - I am no longer beating my wife"

So "yes - Theme Manager is still broken" or "no - Theme Manager is no longer broken". What do you answer if you have never beaten your wife or Theme Manager was never broken?

Thus endeth your logic lesson for today :) :fuzzy:

... Or there's something odd with your setup that makes it fail ...

It works fine for me ... But I don't use it very frequently. I know for sure it applies skins without issues though.

There are somethings with Theme Manager that you need to walk through slowly.

First, make sure you open the Settings Tab in Theme Manager and the box under General Setting in checked.

When you select apply the skin make sure in the next window that comes up that the boxes are marked for the skins you want to download and apply.

Don't try to download something that is for XP on a Vista system.  Make sure that you have the approprite programs loaded to be able to apply the skins, ie you need DesktopX loaded to apply DX Widgets etc.

Most newer WBs have substyles for XP and Vista.  If it looks like the WB didn't apply corretly open WB configuration and see if there is a substyle.

There are some bugs in Theme Manager that will/are being worked on and it will get updated.

I seem to be it right now for uploading Suites for Theme Manager so post a thread in the WC Forums and I will try to help as much as I can. :sun:

well, we all know it doesn't apply all things everytime, and it's not consistent.  there are bugs, they are admitted, so why are people trying to say that it works fine?  i don't get that.  it is broken, it's being fixed, what so hard to understand?  it's not a big deal

I can't even open it anymore after I tried to open it from the first time. Now when I ry to uninstall it it want let me saying inpulsle need to run as an adminisrator. What can I do?

It's kind of like Fight Club, isn't it?  It's "not broken", but there is "a know issue" that is being "addressed" for which there is a "work around" but there is no followup post as to just what this mystery workaround might be.

My personal workaround to the "not broken" yet "known issued" Theme Manager is to not use it, and just install the individual parts of the theme myself and forego the use of Theme Manager all together, because that's the only way to set up my desktop with the individual parts anyway.<_<

It's "not broken"
Skins apply.

but there is "a know issue"
Skins may not apply by default

that is being "addressed"
Devs are looking into a permanant resolution

for which there is a "work around"
See post 13 for a number of work-arounds

but there is no followup post as to just what this mystery workaround might be.
Nothing to report means nothing to report.  Whenb there is new news . . you'll here about it.

I wish I had more news at this time.

TM does not show any logons I have installed on the applications tab only the default Vista. When I click settings it will launch Logon Studio Vista, but applying a logon that way turns my screen black.I do get the logon panel, just no other image. It still will not apply WB's with any sort of predictability either. I'll wait, too buggy for me.

Logons do apply as they should using LSV by itself.

I cannot lo0ad themes, I tried downloading the Dragon theme it downloaded would not instal. I am going to be uninstalling Theme manager. Until I see an update that it may be fixed

I've PM'd OldMsgt to see if I can provide some help with his problems. :sun:

did anyone notice how it's not consistent?  i just noticed this, that i can apply a theme, and maybe a couple parts actually get applied.  if i change themes, then apply it again, other parts apply, and maybe parts that worked last time, didn't apply this time.  it's very strange.

I can't get it to work at all. All themes were loaded but not from the star browser but from save as. But the themes / suites willnot load / apply and the parts of the themes do not download with Theme Manager !

these reply aren't much help any replys yet :>

steper when you open Theme Manager do you see those that you downloaded?

With Theme Manager open click on Settings, make sure the one box under General Setting is marked.  This should give you a drop down menu when you hit apply.  Select the skins you want to download and then select yes.

Theme Manager will be getting an update sometime here in the near future.  When it does hopefully it will be able to download apply all the skins that are available in the WC Library.  Right now there are still some bugs.  That's why all the skins for the Theme and their links are listed in the the description of the Suite.

Hope this helps.

I think what steper means is the Suite can be downloaded as a whole. Click apply and the advanced window pops up and shows the list of skins in the Suite. The boxes are checked. Click Yes and nothing downloads or they are empty downloads I should say. The skins do not download. This has been a issue with me for about a month. Even Suites I have put together that have worked before, do not apply now.
