I built a Tesla Coil a few years ago. It melted :( (long story)

Note to people: do not use combustible materials when making the base of the coil :P

Never done that. But back in the wee days of high school, I had the coolest Chemistry teacher. We made this thing that was a pretty close resemblance to snow, only it was super heat absorbant. We molded it into a snowball, dipped it in alcohol, and set it on fire. You could actually hold it in your bare hand for about 10 seconds until you started to feel the heat. It was awesome!
