X3 terran conflict

X3 terran conflict

Hey fellow Siners

Has anyone played X3 terran conflict or for that matter any of the X games such as X2 the Reunion 2.0?the reason why I ask is because of the graphics that  I saw on YouTube and wondered if this game is similar to Sins in game play ?

Err... no. Freelancer is small and limited and... the universe feels dead. It's a great game to play through, but not a great game to play indefinitely, like X3 is.

I wish I had time to play it long enough to stroll into Argon Prime with my fleet and wipe it clean.

My favorite kind of ship is a carrier with swarms of flighters flying around it. Do they have those too? Bonus points if the carrier also has big guns.

You can get carrier class capital ships large enough to house over 50 fighters! Nothing to stop you owning more than one either though they cost a packet.

Sweet. Whenever they remove Tages the game should be well patched, so I will then do whatever it takes to get a fleet of carriers and swarm over my enemies like a school of pihranas, mwahaha.

There is a rather large forum too, and it's filled with both english and german, as well as polish and whatever, fans of the game. And thus, fanfiction. Some is quite good!

A quick warning about that site. There is a zero tolerance policy on DRM/Piracy discussion there. The moderators are more than happy to lock any posts they don't like. Unfortunatly, the somewhat convinced the users there that hey are the best on the planet (I started a thread complaining about the mods, and flamed by all the users there>:( )

X3: Terran Conflict is a good game, but it still needs some work. The developer, Egosoft, just does not know how to test for bugs, so their games are crap at release. Update it before you even play it.

You can get from Steam and various other websites. Fry's Electronics sells copies at their stores.

In X3: Terran Conflict can I buy and control a capital ship for example a destroyer or something bigger and meaner to keep watch over my interests?

Yeah. Capital ships are very expensive, though.

Is X3: Terran Conflict available in the US? I've heard only in UK or Europe?

It's available in the US :P

You can get it from Amazon, if it is still in stock.

Or Steam, if you have nothing against it.

Oh hmm. cuz i haven't seen in stores...I've seen Reunion in stores but rather the lastest one...maybe i'll look into getting it on Amazon if there is a US version, i think i have a gift card hiding somewhere....Can anyone confirm if their is a US version on Amazon?

I only see the UK version listed on Amazon, sold through GoGamer.

Yeah me too, I only saw the UK version...also couldn't find it on Steam... :(

It's in there :P

Where do you live? Sometimes Valve only gets to distribute games in certain countries.

I'm in Pennsylvania in US....so idk if that has any bearing....

I didn't look hard in Steam, i just did one search and it didn't find it so I just exited out....looking again...

Found it lol...i typed in X3 terran conflict...but apparently it only finds it if you search 'x3' or the actual name 'x3: terran conflict"

Are you talking about this?  Because I also live in Pennsylvania and successfully bought it from Amazon two weeks ago :P.  I'm pretty sure that the UK part just means that the manual and such is in English rather than German, since I think the developer is in Germany.

Egosoft is in Germany.

Distribution of the US version of X3:Terran Conflict is only through Steam.

You can get UK DVDs through Deep Silver on Amazon and GoGamer.com and probably other channels now as well.

The good news is that X3:Terran Conflict v2.0 is now in late beta.  When X3:Reunion v2.0 was released - it was released with all the bonus content on a DVD that had the DRM removed.  Since Egosoft removed their DRM after about a year into production for their past X games, I'm hoping they're about to do the same for X3:TC, because then I will buy it and replace my well-used X3:R 2.0 disk.

The best sand-box game ever.  If you are a player that puts it down because you "don't know what to do", the only suggestion I can make is that you can do whatever you want.  You can fly around and enjoy the music and scenery. You can blow stuff up. You can build things to replace the things you blew up.  You can trade things.  It's your universe.

Here's the first factory complex I built in X3:Reunion.  It was used to make the futuristic space equivalent of a hot dog ("Meat-Steak Cahoonas")

The U.S. version is coming out in April, Atari is distributing it. I saw it on Gamespot. I think this will be when 2.0 is released, so Atari will be distributing the 2.0 edition.

Hmmm, I may just suck up to my parents and let me use their credit card to buy it on Steam.  Thanks :) Maybe Spring Break when I got the time too...

Gnats that's what I found.  My dad said don't order it. But the UK just means English language?  Cuz if so I'd buy it from Amazon with a gift card I have somewhere....

The whole X-series is definitely worth of playing. I spent half of the last night by organizing my trade ships between Argon Prime and Queen's space. O my God! Those Boron trade ships are so huge!
