Sins forum: white on black hurts me eyes!

Hi guys!

I read a lot on the web. Newspapers, message boards, whatever. You name it. Everything is black on white for a reason. It's so much more readable and less exhausting for the eyes. Reading the Sins message boards for longer then 10 minutes is really exhausting...

Is there any way to change the layout to another theme? That incorporates standard dark letters on bright background? A lot of message boards offer such a feature, I do not find this option on this board...

Help really appreciated...

Chris

If you use Mozilla Firefox go to Tools and from there Settings and in settings there is option to change Fonts and stuff but right under font options there is is Color, click on it, change background color and text color and disable "Web pages use their own colors" option and vola, you see Sins forums White and text is Black... or whatever color you wish.

in firefox I could only get that to change the font, not the color or layout.

I love the look of the web page, but do agree it can be a little hard on the eyes at times, though it might not be so bad if I wasn't sitting in a dark room in the middle of the night...

Here's how, but remember it will affect all your web pages :) (Its in Finnish but I am sure english has same layout.)

From many studies out there (mostly in the 70's and 80's) it has been found that emerald green on black and amber on black are the softest impact on eyes.

So what do you think?

Or was IBM right with Blue on white?

You might not be aware of this but Stardock actually has 12 different forum sites. The point of this is that many of the forums that exist on one particular site are replicated on other sites, perhaps even many sites.

How this relates to the OP is that different sites have different color schemes. For example forums.stardock.com has a white background with black text that would probably be an improvement to someone that didn't care for white text on a black background. The other thing about forums.stardock.com is that pretty much all forums that are accessible on the Sins site are also accessible there. The one downside is that forums.stardock.com also contains many non-Sins forums that might not be of interest to you.

For example I actually posted this response from forums.stardock.com.

Another choice is http://forums.impulsedriven.com although I do believe only the top level Sins forum is accessible from there and this Off Topic forum isn't available there either, but it also has black text on a white background.

I'd have to say Emerald Green. It's very nice actually!

The white on black is harsh for me - a casual glance is fine, it looks good.

However, actually reading it for any length of time and it imprints on my eyes - I have a black and white stripe overlay on everything I look at for a good few minutes after.  Not good. GalCiv II forum is the same.  An option in your account profile for alternative colour schemes might be nice.
