Dumb generational question

Ok here goes, about a month and a half ago, i purchases an Intel DX58SO motherboard, and you know how they come will all that literature and advertisements, well it came with this tag you hang on your doorknob(like at a hotel do not disturb) and on this tag it says "Entry at Risk Fraggers Only" this has been killing me, and now i got the nerve to post it here and find out what the hell isa fragger, thanx in advance, PS i have no young kids around to ask this which i am sure know the answer well

The original reference is probably to the Viet Nam war era. A Frag was short for a "Fragmentation Grenade". "To Frag" someone meant to use a fragmentation grenade on him.

I assume it has a similar meaning in this context...ie "flamer' or something close. The Wiki didn't have anything.

The popular Online Dictionary writes:

tr.v. fragged, frag·ging, frags
To wound or kill (a fellow soldier) by throwing a grenade or similar explosive at the victim: "He got fragged. Blown away" Bobbie Ann Mason.

Hope this helps...

thanks doc, i kinda thought that, but i am one of those people that even though i think that is what it is, a little reassurance goes a long way (in other words a second opinion) every now and then i get these reminders that being in my 20's was a very long time ago

jmurph1....we're there already, but at least we're trying to keep up.

My boy works in IT...so I feel like an idiot when it comes to computing, but...

when he's sick, I realize how much he doesn't know...LOL, So I guess it all balances out in the end,

and it's all good.

Remember how we used to let them win? Now there's no effort involved.... ;) |-) :sun:

I know it well from my Quake days, Gibbing is better than fragging, more carnage:grin:  especially with a rocket launcher to the head:thumbsup:
