That Lovely Time of Year Again

Yep, that's right.  It's time for finals. :D  I realize a lot of people are already done with them...but my school apparently likes to take its sweet time before letting us out for winter break.

Anywho, today kicks off the first day of studying for these stupid things.  Tomorrow I have Spanish (not bad) and physics (pain in the ass).  Tuesday I have geology (easy) at 7:30AM. :(  Then Wednesday I have physiology(Jesus that class is hard, not so much the material but the depth at which you need to know it).  Thursday morning I will be going home for some much deserved(in my opinion) rest. ;D

Now I just need to motivate myself to crack open the books today.  I hate studying...

I hope next semester will ease off on the workload a bit, this semester kept me damned busy with all those stupid little assignments.

Oh and if anyone's curious this is what I have queued up next semester:

MWF
Physics 9-10
Understanding Jazz 10-11
Cultural Diversity in the US 12-1

Tuesday:
Genetics 9:30-10:45
Principles of Environmental Science 11-12:15

Thursday
Genetics 9:30-10:45
Principles of Environmental Science 11-12:15
Physics Lab 2-4

Yeah, I gotta take another semester of physics.  Not sure why one wasn't enough...but stupid major requirements and whatnot.

Well, that's what's up with me this week.

Oh and here's an amusing picture for no reason:

My son is home from school and he took one of his finals online from our living room and wrapped up the semester. He does not lack much and plans to graduate in May with a batchelor of science degree in Computer Science. Then...on to graduate school!

Anyway...hang in there Zoo! I is a proud of ya! :congrat:

Lucky him, I gotta wait 'til May '10 until I can get that very expensive piece of paper. :P

I'm hanging in...always do.  Thanks, man. :)

You're almost there! I finished up Emerging infectious diseases yesterday and all that stands between me and my masters is thesis defense on January 16th.

Hey, haven't seen you around for awhile! :P  Emerging infectious diseases, eh?  Sounds positively contagious. :)  Good luck with the thesis defense.

Physio is a tough class but was one of my all time fav undergrad courses.

It's interesting, but damned if the material isn't dense as all hell.  Also, I prefer anatomy and behavior as my focuses...so physiology isn't my favorite cup of tea.  Although it's better than a lot of other boring ass courses. :D

You'll have to let me know how you like your jazz couse next semester.

I think it'll be good...and pretty easy. :)  Never played much jazz, myself...but understanding it shouldn't be a problem.  I really should whip out the ol' saxaphone and play sometime...it's been a couple years.

Ciao, Bella!

Good luck with it all, mate.  Hope you hit the books and get through the exams okay.  Man, I remember how much I hated exams way back when.  Thankfully, I don't have to do anything like that now.  I'd probably fail for sure.

I wish you luck and a Merry Christmas.

Thanks. :) I'm stuck in a Not-so Merry Examas right now. :P  Merry Christmas to you as well.

Now, I'm off to sleep...can't wait to wake up and study some more.  It's so much fun. x_x

Well - it is MIAMI. ;)

Good luck with the exams.  And tell us more about that "culture diversity" course when you get into it.  Sounds interesting (or extremely boring).

Sure.  It could be pretty good. I had an anthropology class my freshman year....peoples of the world.  If it's along the same lines, then it won't be hellishly boring. (I hope)

You know what the worst part about biology is?  Learning all the hormones, proteins, enzymes, and other biomolecules.  It's so tedious and annoying...

Unfortunately this exam is on signal transduction, the endocrine system, and reproduction.  It is rife with names and acronyms of crap I don't really care about...ugh.

So it began and so it shall end.

Two-and-a-half hours from now I'll be well on my way slogging through my last final.

So much stuff in my head right now...like norepinephrine activating a beta adrenergic receptor which activates a stimulatory G protein that activates adenylyl cyclase which activates cAMP leading the the production of protein kinase A which ends up increasing protein phosphorylation.  Signal transduction, baby!  Unfortunately that's only a small part of the test. :(

Thanks.  Staying warm might be tricky...it's like a tundra out there. :/  I wouldn't be surprised to see caribou or musk oxen.

At least there's no snow or ice, though.
