User Karma

just something to tell other people how much others like you (generally based off of helpfulness in a problem or doing something cool)

It's also lacking a negative form, so some of us are sorely undeserving of our karma counts...

I even got one of those for noting that I shouldn't have any.  I don't know why I never seem to get banned from places.  I've called Stardock employees names, if not directly, including the Frog himself, curse frequently and intentionally, not to mention creatively, engage in multi-page flame wars while doing the previous items...

ooookaaayyy.  well, then again, there's the modesty factor.  that's probably why.  my two were for helping someone w/ transfering achievements, and one for writing Remnants

Yeah it's yet another infintile popularity system.  (like we need more of those)...

All of the above are misleading. 

Karma is actually the heavenly gift of Our Hero (tm) and savior Frogboy.  Karma flows from Frogboy, through the Children of the Frog, and finds its natural resting place in the Eternally Helpful Annatar11.

I just gave someone one karma; I was surprised at there is a pull down tab to select how much karma.  Of course the only option is one.  LOL.

Is the Karma stardock wide (spanned over all the linked sites that is..)?

It's specific to each forum. Some forums (like Off-Topic, Impulse as examples) are network-wide and accessible from any portal (sinsofasolarempire.com, elementalgame.com, wincustomize.com, impulsedriven.com, etc) so karma given on those forums is visible everywhere. But karma given on the Sins General forum won't be visible from GalCiv General, for example.
