What is the point of Vasari Phase Stabalizers?

What is the point of Vasari Phase Stabalizers?

Are these things overrated?

I just recently played as Vasari for the first time. I had been hearing all about this RA (Not sure exactly what this stands for) and I am assuming it has to do with teching up to get the "Dark Fleet" ships. I built all the labs, built about 7 phase stabilizers, and was expecting a big return. Spent the resources to activate them all, and all i got was about 6 or 7 ships from each stabilizer.

I really dont understand the point of going through all this if you get such an insignificant number of ships. For the sheer amount of time alone (let alone the resources and money) i could have built a massive fleet on my own.

Somebody please explain the benefits of going through all this. If I am just dumb, and have gone about this wrong or missed something, please speak up. I must be missing something here, because there is no way that spending all the time/money/resources for such little return is worth it.

HELP!

Edit: Ok, I read some posts. I now know RA is Returning Armada-duh. Also found that it changed with 1.11 (yes, that is the version Im using.

Which brings me to this: the search function never works for me on the forum. i always get 0 results, no matter how insanely simple my search is (ie. RA, returning armada, vasari, etc.) Anyone else have this problem? It sure is annoying having to search through pages and pages of posts to find what im looking for.

So is advent the only faction that is not imba in the end game? Economy is not particularly strong, fleet synergy is very nice and culture is nice but neither is ueber...

End game Advent can level their caps twice as fast as the other races and they will level up to level 4 on their own. The advent superweapon while not as offensive as the other two has more uses than spreading culture. Anywhere it fires, your ships get damage boost. You can even target your own planets and get the damage increase there. Add in some of their cap's abilities like hijacking enemy frigates and cruisers permanently, and they can be quite lethal end game. The hijacking ability is really useful, captured a bunch of pirates and then drove my opponent crazy since they didn't notice at first I owned them, and they couldn't figure out why the pirates were acting wierd.
