My copy of Galactic Civilizations 2 has a .log file missing, so it won't uninstall. Whe I try to use the ODNT zapper, the program just freezes up as soon as I click the "I know this will delete all of my skins" button. Any sugestions. I really want to avoid the registry as much as possible.
No idea what 'ODNT zapper' is. Even a search did not show any useful results.
Have you tried deleting the files/folders? Both in Program Files and My Documents\Games\GalCiv2... then re-installing?
You should not need to worry about registry entries. They (at least most of them) should be overwritten with a fresh install. And a fresh install should replace that missing .log file.
The Zapper is Stardock's uninstaller/cleaner
Moosetek13 has a point. If the missing log file causes a non-uninstall and the Zapper won't clean it... deleting the files shouldn't hurt
after deleting, you can use something like CCleaner (it's free) to clean up the registry before a reinstall (CCleaner will also make a backup of the entries cleaned if you tell it to)
Thanks. But anyone have any ideas as to how odnt zapper failed? It is supposed to be an idiot-resisitant, fail-safe application.
