Christmas/Winter Holiday Winky Challenge

Christmas/Winter Holiday Winky Challenge

Santa Winky!

For Halloween we had a ‘challenge’ for someone to create a version of the WinCustomize mascot, Winky, that is suitable for the holiday.  We saw some great entries, but there wasn’t much time given for this, so I wanted to start earlier for the Christmas and Holiday versions.

The contest is simple.  Create a Christmas and/or Winter Holiday version of Winky that we can use for news postings, articles, etc.  You can simply take the image above and use that as your base, or design an entire new image.  Please note this is not replacing our mascot, it’s just a challenge to “dress him up” a bit for the holidays and have a bit of fun.  Images should be at least 128x128, and posted to the comments in this thread only.

We will accept entries until Thursday, December 4th at 11:59.  This time, we will let our moderators take a turn at determining the winner.

Winner will get their choice of one of the following:

  • 1 year subscription/renewal to WinCustomize.com
  • WindowBlinds 6
  • ObjectDock Plus

Get to it!

Since Libardo seems to have this thing all sewn up and in the bag, it's time for me to just get goofy!  To quote Otter from the classic movie Animal House, "I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part." and I'm just the girl to do it!

WIth no further ado, I give you....FESTIVUS WINKY!

(Notice he has his index card with his grievances, for "the airing of the grievances," he's dressed in his singlet for the "feats of strength" and there on the left...the glorious, all aluminum, Festivus Pole!)  For those who don't celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Yule, there is Festivus!  Festivus for the Restuvus!  (See Wiki for the history of Festivus)

Libardo, why are you doing this to me?  Can't you start working on a Windowblind or something where your superior graphics talents could truly be used to their potential?  Seriously, how much adoration do we have to pour on you before you're satisfied? LOL.

k10w3,   , this is the ultimate graphic, and I have plans for a windowblinds, but I'm reading tutorials about the new skinstudio version. I appreciate all the support, sure :CONGRAT:

We celebrated Festivus for the last two Decembers in a row!  (With my son, Levi, in Iraq, it just didn't seem right to be having a "nice" holiday).  We used our Bowflex as a Festivus pole.  The day before Christmas he was sent on a special mission and I was worried out of my head.  The next day he e-mailed me pictures--they had sent him into the Green zone to buy Christmas trees for the D-Fac (dining facility), and man was he bitter about it! (which of course, worked in very well in the "airing of the grievances--"Why did they drag me all over Baghdad for this? Three lousy Christmas sticks.")

Now that he's back in the states, I put up a tree again.  Still...Festivus "fits" us better.  We have a saying that dates way back to when I was still in high school.  "It's not Christmas until somebody cries."

Meant to be black and white. Tis a scene from a very famous Christmas movie.
