Help me PLEASE!Impulse Won't even let me log in to update SINS to 1.1! [banned pirate]

I'm just not getting the help I need right now.

I can't even connect to impulse to get the 1.1 patch.

I am running Vista

I am behind a lynksis Router

I am on comcast internet provider

I rebooted/reinstalled impulse full version many times

I ran Impulse with Admin Privliedges (And now it's currently not doing anything, it's stuck on veryifying).

Generally, I'm not a happy camper. I love Sins of a Solar Empire, but not enough to have to put up with a lesser version of STEAM. Please, help me solve this problem.

The following error is what I get.

(Server not responding, please check your internet connections)

I haven't tried altering my proxies on impulse yet, what should I do? I'm not even behind a proxy, I don't know what to do. I've tried everything I've seen on these forums for the last 3 hours. This is insanity. I need help, if you're reading this, help me. I'll do anything.

Ahhh!  The everyone else is doing it and it's good enough reasoning.

Yeah, thats the point, it IS good enough. And Impulse isn't dominating that strategy in every way, far from it.
And if you need it clarified, I'm not saying don't do Impulse, just do stand alone patches AND whatever else you want.
At the very least until impulse is "perfect".

These forums are FULL of helpful posts by the DEVS and many helpful volunteers (incl. myself) who've invested many hours here.

...of course when one of us chooses to blow off a little steam in a post here and there it's seen as unreasonable by those who only visit the forums to complain or in many cases demand help.  :)

All of us are allowed to post here, some of us should remember that those of us who've spent many months helping here, have along with the bombardment of normal questions also often been on the receiving end of demands, irrational suggestions, insults and downright ridiculous behavior.

Of course.....this is the internet, and all of the above is to be expected, and if you don't have a "thick skin" don't surf.  All of that is true...... where is yours?  ;P

I've been here some time now.........I intend to stay!

So you being a fanboy means I should accept you "blowing of steam" without reacting to it? You jumped into a discussion that didn't concern you and without adding anything of value to the discussion, how is that reasonable?

We can never fully understand the sacrifice you have made on these boards, mankind owes you a great debt.

Mine is fine, thank you. I'm not the one who just posted a long tirade about how shitty my childhood was and how I should be allowed to went here on these boards because I pee myself in excitement  when I get the chance to cut and paste something useful before a dev gets a chance to answer.

Good for you.

You might think about emailing [email protected] for official support if you haven't already . . you seem to be making choices in the forums that may limit community support.

Frogboy, maybe you need to check over at https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/forum/457 Plenty of ""Impulse don't work" threads" over there.

Forcing something like impulse on your customers you better be sure that it works well, impulse doesn't. The name of the product is ironic, because it feels like you did it on an "impulse".

I have no interest of alfa/beta testing your content distribution system and I don't want a major hassle every time I want to update one of your games.

I'll jump through hops to get a game to work, but this delivery system isn't something that I need nor want and it's up to you to make it work if you want to force it on us.

I will be sure to think twice (and check the impulse support forums) before buying something (ie Elemental) from you again.

Hey man, the only problem I have with Impulse is that I keep buying stuff.  It runs great and the few issues I have had were solved on the forums with little fuss.  Keep it up guys.

STEAM used to be crap. It took them a long time to get it to where it is now
