Hitting The Road Tomorrow

Late this afternoon I finally got a call from dispatch. They'd found me a load out of here. Tomorrow I have to go down to Hollywood, FL to pick up some rails heading for Ohio.

I'd hoped for something that gets me closer to the yard, but it's a start. I just hope I don't wind up sitting too long in Ohio when I get there.

Well at least when I return home again (around Christmas), it'll be to a clean house. All this extra time at home gave me a chance to get fully rested and I even managed to give the place a good cleaning instead of the "lick and a promise" it usually gets.

All my gear is already packed in the truck so in the morning all I have to do is have some coffee, grab the food I plan to take with me, my knitting pack, and head out the door.

They'd had a half inch of snow today when I talked to dispatch, and she said it was still coming down. As much as I need the money I am not looking forward to getting back into that damn cold weather.

Ah well, it's a living (usually), and since I'm flat broke I guess I need to get out there and do it.

Glad to see you got something. If not already, you'll be passing by me today. Whne you see the Cemex building right next to the Palm Beach Airport, just imagine I'm looking out waving hello to you.

It's still chilli over here, in the low 70s, well, chilli for Floridians. I was born up north so 70's is A/C cool for me.
