Fried Ice Cream mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Someone on a show playing on the idiot box mentioned fried ice cream. That got my attention. I love fried ice cream. I haven't had it in years. Last time was when my last girlfriend and I were in a restauraunt that happened to serve it and I introduced her to it. '02 or '03 maybe?

Even though lactose and I do not get along I have a weakness for fried ice cream. The stuff really is great. If you've never had it you really should.

Damn, I'm going to have to go find some tomorrow.

Delicious.  I want some right now.

This one Tex-mex joint around here (because, let's be honest, there's hardly any such thing as 'authentic' mexican food in the states) they have something they call sweet nachos - it's got fried ice cream, cinnamon-sugared flour chips, sweetened condensed milk, and whipped cream.

Scrumptious caloric overload.

Is it Mexican? I've only ever had it at Chinese restaurants. It's still great though, wherever it's from!

I have heard of it (during fair time) but never had any.  So how do they fry it without melting it? ;)
