Conquering the world without building a single city or unit was fun.

Downloading now, I'm "officially in" now :)

So many people mentioning MOM, and this being MOM2, yet Stardock has officially said that Elemental is NOT MOM2. They were in negotiations over the lisence with Atari, but it seems like they didn't get it. And not there are rumors about Atari planing MOM2.

Hell, Stardock has even informed us all Elemental is NOT MOM2. http://tgnforums.stardock.com/?aid=165429 or have a read at http://www.masterofmagic2.com/

Sure Elemental might have some simularitys, but what game doesnt pull off some design off of another?

Anyways, I'll for sure be playing Elemental. But as to when, I do not know. I just had to get a loan to cover some repairs for my appartment...sigh.

Of course Elemental isn't MoM2. Lords of Magic was MoM2.

Age of Wonders = MoM3

Age of Wonders 2= MoM4

Immortal Sovereigns = MoM5

Elemental: War of Magic is... MoM6!!!!

:P j/k hehe

I loved MOM and if I had to pick any company on the planet to try to pull off a great game in the same genre, it would be stardock.

EDIT: it had been awhile since I had pre ordered and I had lost my original email account that I had used with impulse.  Emily in customer service helped me get everything straighted out.  Stardock has some of the best customer service people in this industry.

I first heard about Stardock from a friend in college who had purchased GalCiv.  It's been awesome watching the company continue to grow and expand into the PC game industry, and I couldn't resist pre-ordering a game that sounds like a fusion of my favorite elements from previous games that I have played.  Hope that I'll be able to provide some useful and relevant feedback as the beta progresses.

Good luck Stardock!

I even play Beta elemental, because the cloth map is fun.

Pre ordered it last week, looking forward to the beta!

Hooray for Stardock's 20% off coupon!

Pre-ordered and reading the forums

In for the long-haul. Haven't had much play time so far but Canadian winters are long and dreary hibernations quite conducive to lazy videogame evenings.

And Stardock are great, I'm happy to contribute to the shaping of this game. I've been a long-time HOMM player but don't have much faith that Ubi is taking that series in the right direction. I'm hopeful that Elemental will become the new turn-based standard. Based on SoaSE and GalCiv, if anyone can do it its Stardock.

And these forum smilies are hilarious too. :sun:

I pre-ordered a few weeks ago, right after Thanksgiving.

I would of pre-ordered a much longer time ago (mid October) but I thought to wait until an opening where I could join the beta. Finally I decided that, since I would be getting the game anyway, getting it now would be safer than risk missing another Beta-join opportunity.

I have thrown my hat in the ring and pre=ordered a few hours ago.  Really looking forward to this game.  Good luck and thanks to the developers.

Normally, yes. But Frogboy has said that since the Impulse team wants to try the preload feature of Impulse, there is a chance that the next Beta v.1.? will become available to new betausers.

I pre-ordered about a year ago, then fell on hard times and had to decline the beta invite I received in late August (?). Very hard times. I am employed again and re-pre-ordered so hopefully I will still get a chance to help out. I beta tested the original MoM and have waited a long time for this.

And seriously, LoM and AoW were not remotely worthy successors to MoM. LoM had its moments when it ran at all. AoW was tediously boring. Some day I would love to see you guys join forces with the guy that made Dominions 3 to make a Dominions 4 with passable graphics.

My order is in for the Limited Edition, today.  This is the first time I have ever done this for a game.  I think Stardock deserves the early support.  Usually, I would wait(to purchase) till a game has most of its bugs worked out; a year or so down the line from initial release.
