Problem:

Impulse won't download and install version 2.99[b].031 of Theme manager (3.0 beta)

Error Condition:  Error retrieving data

Remedies tried: Reset Data in Impulse Preferences (Completes)

Result: Problem persists still get above error condition

Solution: Stardock Support has solved this problem.

Edit: Problem no longer occurs.  Stardock Support has fixed this problem.  Thanks!

Did it through SDC and it works LoL (on XP)

I already posted that in a thread called "About New Theme Manager version ..." though maybe it will be better to be here !

Well, as it the first beta, perhaps things going wrong will be corrected, but here's a list of what it should get imperatively

1°) past version of Theme Manager included some more applications such as Winamp, ObjectDock, CursorXP, Stardock Widgets and so on (don't remind exactly the correct list). Though some suite already builted have these applications in, and though the new theme Manager version should get at least the same applications in.

2°) past version didn't managed correctly ObjectDocks themes. The new version should managed ObjectDock within the .ini files of objectdock themes i think (wherever are stored these files on disk and not only in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock as you may want to ... )

3°) All Stardocks skinning applications should be added in the default applications list

4°) it would be nice to let user add some none pre-defined applications such as rainlendar, xion and others

5°) above all it would be imperative to have the options to edit an existing suite builded with Theme Manager (and not to have it to delete and rebuild from scratch like it was with past version) AND themes from MyColors

6°) for this fisrt version i think that things are confusing between elements for buiding a theme/suite and separated elements

Please give Impulse a shot again today and let me know if the synchronization worked.  We had a synchronization job fail on the server.

Yea!  The download finally worked using Impulse.  Thanks for the extra kicking.

My first impressions of it are very good.  Thanks for the much need update.

Initial impressions is working well.  Easy to use and navigate.

Limitations does not support all Object Desktop Applications.

DesktopX is missing so is RightClick and WindowFX.

Can't find support for desktopx gadgets or widgets to be included with theme.

When selecting Applications Cursor, images of cursor themes are frequently absent.

Seems to exclude cursor images for all CursorXP themes although CursorFX does display them properly.

That's all for now.

Overall Impression is positive.  Looks promising.

It doesn't support Logon XP?  Will LogonStudio Vista work on XP?  (I wanted to hold on to XP at least until Windows 7 was out of beta and released to the public)

Um.....can't find it in Impluse....just the version 2.50c.049....that i have installed. What the heck am I missing?

ImStein this is a beta so in Impulse click on the Blue Ord and make sure that Show Pre-release Versions is checked.

Remember thought this is a beta release so it might act strange or not have all the things that you would expect.

As mentioned above by k10w3, I'm still on XP also and would like to see both BootSkins and Logon Studio if possible.

I'm afraid that Logon XP is no longer supported. It has not been developed in years. LogonStudio Vista may work on XP but it is not intended for that purpose, and it is recomended that it is not installed on XP. Sorry for the trouble.
