I recently finished a game in the 7ds version 1.3 mod, playing against several medium difficulty AI's.

I was Atlantian, and had captured a few of the Kor'Ah planets. Soon they attacked an asteroid that had four hangers & three beam platforms, with none of my units. their fleet consisted of two lvl 10 cap ships, (not sure what they're called), about 50 skirmishers, 20 bombardment ships, and a few others. they went straight for my beam defense platforms, and quickly destroyed them. But after they would destroy one, I would build another one, killing all of their bombardment ships, yet the AI was too dumb to attack my constuctor ships, and they stayed there for about an hour, until my fleet came and owned all of them.

Play against Hard or harder difficulty. Normal isn't very difficult to beat to be honest, best to turn up the heat once you get the feel for whatever race you're playing with.
