The Next President

I must say, that in last night's Presidential Debate Senator Obama looked very "presidential"  I have always been a big supporter of Senator Obama's and these debates have gone to show why he should be the next President of the United States.

We need a Democrat in the White House to clean up all this crap that the current President has gotten us into.  I think that it is a shame, that when President Clinton left office he left this administration with a surplus, a balanced budget, a strong; stable economy, record job creation and a stock market that was closing at record highs.  In just 8 years President Bush...and I use that term reluctantly....has destroyed practically everything that the previous 8 years was accomplished.

January 20th, cannot come fast enough for me.  I just pray that Barak Obama will have the prayers and support of a United Nation as he tackles the problems that will be on his desk in January.

I guess you dont remember 2000 then.  Nice to forget all the troubles we had.

But for all your dreaming, answer one question.  Why did Clinton kill the dot com?

Look Im a democrat too. But I honestly am tired of this blame shit on bush always. Im also for reason and that your opinions should be based off of facts and not a die hard commitment to party lines.

I think Obama would be a better president than McCain. However I dont think that what you put forward was an accurate or even reasonable reason for supporting Obama.

Look, it's true that the yearly budget was shown to have a surplus, but the national debt was still over 5 trillion dollars.  Yes the Bush administration doubled that number, but it was because they cut taxes and increased spending.  That's not how the conservative philosophy works, it's supposed to be, cut taxes and cut spending.  We don't need another big spender in the White House.  We need a Conservative, but since we don't have one on the ballot, I'll settle for McCain.

I think the "conservatives" need to do a little homework.

"For the mathematically inclined, if you take the first derivative of the data presented to find the slope of each President’s debt increase, you will find that the Republican slopes are consistently more positive than the Democratic slopes.  For everyone else, this just means that unbiased mathematical proof exists to support the claim that since 1945, Republican presidents have borrowed more than Democratic presidents regardless of the inflation rate[4]."

Get a clue guys. The republican part isn't fiscally conservative. They have become militant imperialists, and McCain isn't any different.

I'd vote for a true fiscal conservative, but there hasn't been a viable one on the ballot since perhaps Ross Perot.

So you can vote for a militant imperialist who will continue to devalue our currency with massive borrowing. Someone who is only degrees better than the neocon that preceeded him, or someone who can lead real transformation in our nation.

Colin Powell of Obama on the recent economic problems "(he has) displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge and an approach to looking at problems ... . I think that he has a, a definitive way of doing business that would serve us well."

Our economy, foreign policy, national security, fiscal and monetary policy will all fare better under Obama than McCain. Vote for the man, not the party.

I really am sorry that our political system entrenches power into two parties and that our viable choices are so very limited. I believe in small government, states rights, and economic/social liberty... but we won't get that with either party in power, regardless of the lip service the republicans give it. So we might as well pick someone competent to lead. In this case that is Obama.

Chad 1013,

You have made your point about Bush ruining our accomplishments. I agree 110%. F.D.R. improved our country better in 1 day than Bush in 8 years.F.D.R. in my opinion is in the Top 5 best leaders in U.S. history. Thats why I support Obama. McCain has agree with Bush 90% of the time and 4 more years of the same is the last thing I want to happen. Great Article!

Sincerly,
