If I install the beta, is there a way I can go back to playing on version 1.05 so I can still lay people online without the new patch? I've searched around but can't seen to find the answer. Thanks much.

First) v1.05 has been out for how long now? 5 months.
Second) If you are talking about not using impulse, right, you must use impulse to install all versions beyond v1.05.
Third) If you are talking about using the v1.05 to downgrade from the Beta, that obviously WON'T work.

Funny - that's EXACTLY how I got onto 1.05, since Impulse wasn't available back then...
Sorry, there was a misunderstanding.
1) My post was not a request for help but a report of a fact. I was well aware of all three facts you mentioned when I posted my message.
2) OK, I said "install the 1.05 Patch manually" but since the topic title is "going back to 1.05" I thought it was obvious that I meant "downgrade manually using the 1.05 patch executable". I'm not a native english speaker, so please excuse the wrong expression.

I was kind of writing to be humourous. In any event, I think the answer is: No, you cannot go from the beta to v1.05 by installing the v1.05 patch.
I actually found it funny that you minidumped too, considering v1.05 seems to do that a lot no matter what (Yes, I am poking fun at you Stardock).

I take "Intalling 1.05 manually" to be different to "Downgrading to 1.05 manually"
I'll stick to 1.05. No dumps here and no wanting to shoot my monitor with a shotgun like so many seem ready to do with Beta 1.1 installed.
