Streaming My Webcam

no special reason

I've been playing around with my webcam and decided to set it up as a streaming feed. Mostly just to try it out.

First I set up my own server with IP forwarding from my dsl router, and placed a webpage with a viewing applet on it. That worked pretty well, but as I don't want to have my router opened up like that all the time I took that down again after playing with it for a bit.

Then I set up an account at a free webcam hosting site and linked that feed into a webpage hosted by my isp.   It's working well.  I reverted my server back to LAN file serving.

Nothing very exciting to see on it really. Just me loafing around the house right now. I figure I'll use it to stream feeds from wherever I find myself online while out on the road, but for now it just my little place.

Oooh I'm going to take a look! I have a webcam too, haven't set it up yet though, at least not the one on my laptop..finally bought one because of a great deal!:*   And the old clunker computer we have had for so long, finally chose now to break down!!!  Just when I was thinking that I finally have something to MYSELF!  :drool: :grin:

Yeah I hit the bed right after posting. Figured the fountain would make a nice sleep time view :LOL:

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned that clicking on the stream image opens another window that contains both the stream and a chat.

Yeah I turned in kind of early last night. Wanted to get my rest just in case I get dispatched out today. The stream server seems to have gone down at some point during the night but I reset and am live again this morning.
