DesktopX conflict with Deskscape

I just recently installed Deskscape and enjoy the effect. However, the visuals freeze whenever I start my DesktopX program. (Even with backgrounds removed from desktopX.)

 

If I switch between client and builder on DesktopX, Deskscape will work while it's unloaded, so I'm certain of the conflict source. Has anyone else noticed this problem or have a fix? (A forum search has turned up nothing.) I refuse to get rid of my custom desktopX, been using one since the program came out!

I don't have iconX installed. However, working with your suggestion I disabled the "Hide desktop icons" and now it works perfectly.

 

Sadly, I hate having even the RecycleBin showing, so I'll have to figure something out. ;)
