Problem with Sarah Palin

I had already created a custom candidate named Sarah Palin; and it seems that when the game updated, the new Sarah Palin didn't appear in the list of candidates, probably because I had already created a custom one. How can I fix this?

If you open up your /my documents/my games/polmachine2008/candidates folder, you willl see all the candidates you have created.

You can either delete your sarahpalin.candidatexml file, or:

Rename the file to MySarahPalin.candidatexml, and open it in NotePad

Near the top, you should see a line like this:

<Candidate InternalName="SarahPalin" Custom="true">

Change this to

<Candidate InternalName="MySarahPalin" Custom="true">

Then find the line for Last  Name:

<LastName>Palin</LastName>

and change it to

<LastName>Palin 2</LastName>

Save the file and start up the game, and you should now be able to see both.

The real problem with Sarah Palin is that her intelligence is rated as 7, when in reality it's a 4 at best.

No republican will take office in the next three elections at least. Bush screwed this country up so badly, and now Rahm Emmanuel has been expertly crafting a way to discredit the republican party by pushing that racist pig Rush Limbaugh to the forefront. Great role model there for America, also going to mean democrats for the next 12-16 years.
