[Bug] Beta freezes at arena-screen

Hello,

 

I have downloaded and installed the Demigod Beta 1. However, it wont let me get further than a first glance of the arena-screen. I can navigate the menues etc. just fine, but the moment i launch a created LAN-game the game freezes. Have tried to launch about 10 games, same thing every time. Played around with the GFX-setting, but without any luck. The exact same thing happens for a friend of mine running on similar system specs, below you can find our specs.

4GB DDR6400
GF 8800GT 52MB @ Forceware 175.19
Windows XP Pro SP2

Please let me know if this is a known issue and if there is a fix available for this. If not, then I hope my above description of the problem helps!

Same thing here, I have 0.62.015 here, Brazilian Portuguese Windows.

The game stucks at the VS. screen. Is it really that hard to fix this? It's been an issue since first beta release, it's just said because I haven't been able to play it and I was in the very first beta (pre-ordered the boxed a whole lot of months ago).

+1 here, i pre-ordered it during first beta and was unable to play it since, because of russian letters in my users name folder... just how hard is it to fix this? Certainly easier than creating another user, moving an entire personal folder and then bashing with non working applications.

I've had the same problem as you guys since first beta release aswell and never figured out why it wouldn't run until now, glad i stumbled upon this thread. At least now I know I'm not the only one with this problem. :)

i'm sorry, but that's a poor effort if you stumbled on this thread; we get possibly 4 per week on this exact issue.

Yeah I haven't exactly gone out of my way to try to solve it, this was only the second or third time I went to the forums to have a look. I always pre-order the games I'm interested in anyway and getting into the beta was only a bonus to me.

I'm sure Demigod is gonna be a great game and I have no problem waiting for a fix, especially with all the other pc games coming out in the near future (Dawn of War 2, Dragon Age, Empire).

The problem persists with the latest build.

I am running WinXP german.

Will tyr again after next update
