Disconnected from game server

hi everyone,

I bought this game roughly two weeks ago but never went online. My friend now also has the game so we decided to go online and play with each other. But somehow we can't connect to each other games. We get the: disconnected from game server error) I've been searching for a solution the entire day now but haven't found anything.

Now I know that this problem has occured with multiple players but yet I'll ask: Can anyone help us please???

Greetz,

Falconpilot

Whichever of you is hosting (preferably both of you) needs to forward ports 6000 and 6112 TCP through your firewall/router/broadband modem to your machine in order to host.

In the 1.1 update (currently in open beta), there is a new system which can bypass the firewalls and make this unnecessary.

and how do you do that? sorry but I'm not really an IT- specialist

ps: where can I download the 1.1?

There should be a stickied guide on network setup for Sins somewhere around here. I don't remember if it's in Technical or Multiplayer, though.

ps: where can I download the 1.1?

You'll have to install Impulse, add your serial # to your registrations if you haven't already done that. There's a current UI bug in Impulse where the registration button doesn't appear, but is still clickable, see reply #4 here.

After that, click the blue orb in the top left and check "show pre-release versions". If you have trouble downloading, click the blue orb > preferences > connection and toggle the new download mechanism.

Try the guide under the green text here.

Edit: Not again!

ok I've installed the patch 1.09beta (1.1 wasn't in the list) I've now tryed that hosting test and it said: Ip is not visible.

Any idea what might be wrong?

thx for the help so far :)

The 1.09 beta is the 1.1, they're just not calling it 1.1 until the final release :P

And that's actually normal, the Ip not visible thing if you toggled Alloy. I keep forgetting why (*rings the Monk bell*), because I'm not a network guru.

Regardless, you can still host even though it shows IP not visible. :)

Falconpilot,

You are still able to host, even with the "IP not visible" message. see here

The IP not visible error is most likely due to most routers etc. blocking WAN-ping or IDENT by default. I've been too lazy to verify my theory though, so it's possible it might be due to something else. :)

Either way, the error does not prevent hosting.

thanks,

the Monk

And monk your technical guide is awesome, couldn't believe someone would actually make a big guide on himself.(without being payed for it, I think :p)

:D Well then I guess it would surprise you even more if I said that this game isn't the first I've written guides for, I've actually done much more tech-support for other games.

Glad to see you happy Falconpilot. Btw....your name wouldn't imply that you would enjoy playing Falcon 4.0 (the successor to Falcon 3.0......the best flight-sim of all time!) would it? hehe

I play Falcon 4 AF with my bro (who is a civ. pilot) and a few of our cousins. Would love to add another player to our group if you're interested. :)

sorry but I'll have to dissapoint you on that :P I don't play falcon 4.0 (I know blasphemy) I got that name since I'm studying to become a f-16 (fighting falcon) pilot in the belgian air force.
And I don't think it would work anyway sine I live in a totally different time zone than you ;) but If you think that won't be a problem then give me a sign on my msn or email ([email protected]) I'll see about getting it then ;)

We are having the same problem. My friend that got the game for his BD finally said he thought he was ready for Online play. We got him logged onto ICO fast and easy, and were playing in minutes. We played for an hour, then both our games froze. We were both unable to log onto ICO after that; we tried dozens of times, but it said "Disconnected From Ironclad Online" for both of us every time we hit the "Log In" button. We gave up, for now, but we sure hope we are able to continue his very first Online game  :SURPRISED:

It's about 3 hours later, neither of us can log onto ICO still; is it offline or something?

Had the same issue all day, Unable to log in cause its consistantly saying "Disconnected From Ironclad Online" as I try.
