Can I move drives from 'My Computer' to desktop?

The reason I want to do this is the properties and mouse over text have more useful information than what shortcuts have.

And I know I can get rid of the shortcut arrow and edit the text, but I'd rather not want to if I can just move the C: disk and removable drive to the desktop.
