Capital ships wrecks

They pop too easy

Is there a possibility to consider changing the capital ship destruction mechanics?

As it stands now, losing a capitalship is big minus, and the benefits of capital rarely outweight the mass of frigs.

The problem lies in the way capitals go pop, and the hulls wanish without trace. Its sad, how ships that rivals a small asteroids in size, disapear so easily ad wanish without a trace.

What i am proposing is that capital, when destroyed, leaves a wreck.

The enemy can recycle/destroy permanetly the wreck, or... you can "Salvage" a wreck with colony frig.

In nutt shell, if enemy kills your capital, but you end up holding the field of battle, you may revive your wreck back to level 1 cap ship and 10%~ of its original hull by bringing new crew with colony frig and paching up the major systems so it can limp back to repair bay.

If enemy end up holding the field, it will recive some sort of prize by getting the metal/crystal from wreck.

This way, fighting the battles with capitals dosent automaticly mean that all is lost we the initial encountter goes something like this: All focus fire on capital > capital dead or jumpped, then kill rest of his fleet.

Holding the field will now mean more, and using capitals in combat wont be fools errand.

This is a really cool idea.

culd be also a smart to make it that the revived capital cant use wepons or abilitis untill its hull is over 50%, including passive regeneration.

In essence, when capital is "revived" it need proper overhaul at repair bay or hoshiko/whatever repairs it.

This will prevent hot activations of wrecks in on going battle.

Another idea is salvage enemy race capitals, but that may be a liiiiiiiittle too fat. ;)

I'm actually doing this in a combat rebalancing mod I'm working on for version 1.1. Basically, I reworked it so that battleships have the most powerful conventional weapons of any capital ship, and will always win hands down in a direct confrontation with any lesser capital ship.

If enemy capital ships can be salvaged, then it becomes an other way of resource income. :D

This idea makes the game even more competitive, and make players to actually try to save the capital ships when situation is not looking good.

I admire u guys about that ideas and stuff what u would wish 2 see added . WAKE UP AND STOP DREAMING. This game has 6 month, and dont have such features as automap download, or just proper multiplayer system, has host problems is quite imbalanced and is buged . Wrong place for this topic, try in solar empire 3 forum.

I wouldnt want it as a regular effect, but a 10% chance for something like that would be cool. though I have to agree, there is a ton of more important areas to work on than such a relatively minor feature. plus, why is this in the beta feedback? there is simply no chance for completely new feature requests (other than those aleady in the beta patch) to be implemented in the 1.1 patch, given how much resources it took to bring that out.

It's doable NOW! (in SINS 1.05)

When the ship gets 90% damaged, apply an effect on it to do all these things:
Make it capturable
Disable regeneration, weapons, etc
Decrease engines to 10%

Make 'Not Optimally Targetted'
apply a nice explosion effect so that it looks like it was crippled...

You will lose an ability slot, unless you give the ability to the planet itself, etc... There are ways to do it...

Next, you give something the ability to capture it...

Finally, make repair bays lift the buff from the ship when they go above 50% hull!

I'll leave the details to you, but it IS doable :CONGRAT:

Salvaging in general would be a great idea, if you salvage a wreck you get metal or crystals. Just an idea.
