How do I download/listen to the SoaSE music?

Hello,

This is my first post and this may sound like a rather newbie question but how do I listen to the soundtrack outside of the game?

I know that you can only get the collector's edition of SoaSE (which includes all of the extras of which the soundtrack is one of them), so I clicked on the "Buy Now" part of the site and then clicked the Buy button underneath the "Digital Download only" so I am assuming that I would get the soundtrack option available as a different download.

Could someone please tell me what, if anything, I am doing wrong and also how I can access the soundtrack?

I'm entirely not sure, but I think the soundtrack is available through the updates button in the main menu.

Also, if you have any media player that supports .ogg format, the files are in the installation directory under sound.

Are you talking about in the game Kitkun or the main menu of something else?

I've done that and it is now updated, but I still can't see where the music is.

Yep. Entirely not sure...

I suggest finding a player that supports .ogg format.

I'd like to hear the music outside the game too; and maybe put in some of my own. Guess I'll look for a .00g player too.

If you have the CE (ordered from Stardock), you can download the music CD here.

The Update button in-game used to take you to this page, but with the launch of Impulse it was redirected to start that instead. The soundtrack is only available for the CEs (it'll check your registered serial).

If you can't get that, then your only other option is the .oggs - which is mostly the same music ;)

Hmm, it does not work. I remember I have downloaded it from somewhere before.

Doesn't work because annatar's link is for the digital->box upgrade page. Here is the link you're looking for (ignore the bonus pack--it's the 1.05 patch and will break any more recent version).
