Vista

Vista

I an so sorry many of you are screwed by Bill Gates and hus precious Vista software. I have a new computer and was forced to have vista as my OS. I found out how quickly how shity the OS was and had to spend $300 plus the loss of my in service wanrranty in the process. All told, it costed me $600 when you add that I am void of a warranty now. With that being said, it was well worth it because I don't have to deal with that piece of crap anymore. The really shity thing about it all is the Bill Gates saw how badly he f'd up and as if to stick it in our faces, he discontinued XP altogether on June the 30th.

There is some good news though: his stock has taken a bad tumble over the past 6 months and he has lost several billions of dollars over it because of his precious Vista program that he doesn't want to admit as being a bad project.

The other part of the good news is that Macintosh is laughing all the way to the bank for their stock has gone up 200% in the same 6 months.

I know that is not much in the consulation dep't for you, but he is taking a huge hit for this also. You can still get it on ebay, but it is getting expensive really fast now so I highly suggest you pick one up before it is too late. It is an expensive endeavor for the divers have to be completely refigured to comply back to XP. Gee, I guess that son of a bitch sure planned this one out very carefully. One more thing: there are many lawsuits pending right now including a class action one for his deliberate action of discontinuing XP with only 3 months notice. I don't have the exact information though. This is just something that I have heard from in other forums.

Besides, the 6th Grade teacher might be more well versed in Zubish... which would be to your advantage if you wanna graduate to the 7th. ;p

It's deja-vu all over again....

From 2002 -yes the truth is that WIN XP sux! big time! first of all there are some irritating compatibility flaws... for e.g when i was using win2k i chked the compatibility for winxp it didnt show any major problem as for few little proggies that was ok....BUT when i upgraded it to WIN XP it said that it was not compatible with my modem(MOTOROLA SM56PCI) which was a major blow! and the damn thing said that u should chk for the drivers on the website but helllooooooo how am suppose to connect without my modem working! duh! so i had to again format it and install win2k which BTW rocks! among all the wins.
and another thing the interface also sucks it looks like wall of TOYS-R-US store! all bright and colourful i mean what the hell is that are we suppose to entertain lil kids with it or what!
phew! that was a bad experience
!

I freakin love the Toys-R-Us line. Definitely NOT a future skinner.

2003 - I just wanted to know how everyone else views the XP operating system. I've used it a lot and I hate it. It seems very slow and bloated. It is not very secure either I understand? The way it has to be activated, to keep using it, what would you do if you wanted to put it on your other machines? Also what if Microsoft remotely disabled my machine?

The whole Windows world infuriates me, but it's what we're forced to live with.

Yes, I hate XP. They are clearly trying to rip off the Mac interface and featrues, and what they have done is just horribly insulting. Especially considering the fact that they make about $50 billion (yes, $50 billion) a year, that you'd think they'd be able to spend just a little bit of that on making their products more quality and original. But, if you're upgrading from a previous OS to XP, it's better just to buy a new computer.

XP has some nice features (photo viewer/thumbnails for video are good) but is buggy as hell. I'll stick with 98!

ive gone back to 98 and will stick with it until microsoft take their fingers out of their a***s and give us something that works first time round.

Reinforcorcing it to him is redundant and wasteful of any energies exerted.

Not only that, but it repeats itself. Not only that, but it repeats itself.

3.1 was fun! 98 wasn't bad. I never got into the Mac OS, and more's the pity. My son ran the Mac lab at his high school, and could have taught me just about about OS's....come to think of it, I got him started with an Emerson, and he took off like a rocket.

How did you folks get started? That story might make a cool thread!

Didn't just let it out... prised it out with a screwdriver and scratched the shiny new interface, thus voiding the warranty

And worse still, it was a stubborn little sucker coming out and he bent his screwdriver into the bargain. ;p

No kidding...

Also for you Vista haters this should be an interesting read: OH LOOK, MS TRICKED YOU! HA!

"Spurred by an e-mail from someone deep in the marketing ranks, Microsoft last week traveled to San Francisco, rounding up Windows XP users who had negative impressions of Vista. The subjects were put on video, asked about their Vista impressions, and then shown a "new" operating system, code-named Mojave. More than 90 percent gave positive feedback on what they saw. Then they were told that "Mojave" was actually Windows Vista."

As I figured, a lot of these Vista haters haven't even tried it. It's one thing to have tried it and disliked it on a reasonable setup (not something 6 years old) and hate it, but when you just let some guy on the internet dictate your opinions for you it's pretty sad. :NOTSURE:
