Mini Map

I'm thinking it would be a good idea (especially becasue of Assassins since they are in the frontlines of the battle, but also for Generals because they would be albe to see where to send the next wave of their forces to fend off enemies) for there to be a mini map in one of the corners, or accessible by an in-game menu, so you can see where the enemy forces are attacking from and how close they are to your castle and portals(the things that send your reinforcements). This way one is still able to be in the frontlines and doesn't have to deal with the hastle of constantly having to return to one's castle and protals to check up on things.

For the mini map the different commands can be posted as red vs. blue or something simple like that....Just an idea.

I'm not sure if they are going to make a mini-map but remember that they are including the Strategic Zoom which you can use to get a full view of the battlefield. A mini map would be nice too though.

Strategic Zoom will definately be nice, but I worry if you would lose sight of your Demigod if the map is a large one and their are many combatants, especially if you aren't a giant Demigod such as Rook...I guess we'll just have to see how large the maps will tend to be; Strategic Zoom will, as you said, probably be more than enough, but a mini map would still be a nice addition.

while I do not know more than you, I think that it would be very silly if there isn't a minimap. And its something I would campaigning for during the beta if it is really missing what I strongly doubt.

I do love the Strategic Zoom, as I have played Supreme Commander, and it reduces the need of a minimap quite a bit, but it would also be good if you had a minimap you could turn on or off.

Yeah I agree, that's why I also suggested it as an in-game menu option.

Well, considering that this game is using the Supcom engine and Supcom provides a mini-map option (albeit a small and difficult to use one), the programming is there to provide one. Let's hope they tweak it so that it can provide more clarity of the battlefield.

I think one of the problems with the mini map in supcom is it was programmed to do too much. Just a simple little radar showing area explored, allies, fog of war, and enemies in line of sight of one of your allies.

I'm a big fan of the minimap in WarIII especially when each individual player has their own color (ie Vibrant colors sentinel, dull colors scourge).

If anything, i suggest a minimap, that u can draw or hide, and customizeble, like: Show allied units red, yourself black, enemy white.(stuff like that) And maybe some stuff from Supcom like the range of your units.

it is nice to be able to mark areas on the map for your team. You can express only so much via voice chat and much less typing

Supcom has the ability to apply pings on the map using the function key, there is also a customisable ping that you can add text to, hopefully that is carried across to Demigod. It would be great if this was expanded to include whiteboard functionality.
