Now, as for Butch's problem, the only thing he's mentioned is "access".

1) He clearly has access.
2) He's clearly used it to create his own personal page
3) He's used it to post on the beta site

What access hasn't he received? He doesn't state what that might be. But it seems clear that Stardock has lived up to its end of the agreement.

Brad, I will put this in grade 2 mentality level....

I"ve said already 100 times that I come here using Internet Explorer. I am not disputing that I have access...of some kind...but if you read clearly message 13, first paragraph, I state ...1...The Tray does not function, not a big deal but I just mentioned it and that all I can do with the browser is download. Also, I am registered only as a guest. could you tell me if a paid subscriber is only supposed to be registered as a guest? With the browser, am I not supposed to be able to post? Well..it tells me access denied. Am I not supposed to be able to vote? It tells me access denie. Am I not supposed to be able to upload? Well it tells me access denied. But you know Jake knows all this stuff,
I explained it all to him during the conversation we had. Look, why dont you just state once and for all what I am entitled to? As for computer illeteracy, I hope you are not talking about me....cause I have been around computers for over 20 years. I started with the Atari 8 bit (wrote the first bulletin board ever, before there was the internet, all in Basic). I also programmed in Pascal and C. Do you? Most people dont even know Basic today, so I hope you werent referring to me. As I stated before I am a French Canadian and I am doing my best to come across as clearly as I can. So..please just tell me what I am allowed to have and not allowed to have, because I want to put this issue to rest once and for all.

You state: I'm not allowed to upload. Where does it say this? We don't have uploading working yet on THIS BETA VERSION of WinCustomize yet. But uploading works fine on www.wincustomize.com just fine and you don't have to be a subscriber to do that.

Voting doesn't require a subscription either, just logged into the site.
It sounds like you're not logged in on the other site (i.e. userID and password).

These are things that make me think you're not very familiar with computers - regardless of what you claim. You shouldn't have purchased a subscription to the site without having first learned how to use it as a basic user.

That is why I think your best bet is to simply ask for a refund.

Ok. Here is an update.  When Butch original called and talked to Jake it was determined that his access level was set to a visitor status.  But since we did not log why he was demoted to a visitor access level we re-instated his access back to citizen.

It appears since then he has been re-demoted to visitor status again.  Probably another admin did this for whatever the original reason he was demoted. And didn't realize that we had reinstated his access.

So apparently this is why Butch is complaining that he does not have access to certain things.  I have now re-instated his access to citizen. 

And for the record, if you access level is set to visitor status then no you are not allowed to post and you are not allowed to vote. 

So as far as his access, that should be all cleared up.  As far as your problem with Trayserver, haven't a clue because you have not posted the symptons and/or error messages that you are getting.  My suggestion at this point is to email jake again at [email protected] as he would be the best person to help you out.

And explaining the problem in detail instead of cryptic messages is a big help.  I can only imagine the reaction you would get if you called up your mechanic over the phone and said my car is broke, fix it. Where do you begin?

And lastly for the record, I did email butch earlier in the week asking for more information about the issues he was having and never did receive a reply.

You mentioned you're getting an error when you click on 'My Account'. If you could, please try and remember exactly what error it was as well as any steps you've done that led up to the error.

Dark-Star, I already fixed the problem.  It was the special characters in his name not liking the RegEx expressions. So I fixed it the easy way and changed his nick by removing the *'s and ?'s.

Well, it's really good, but for the people with their own web pages, the 'recommend' button and the 'feature skin' button should appearright next to the comments button when in expanded view. Also when I vote the top banner dissappears and the fonts get all whacko.

Oh, and you shouls be able to go to this new site directly from the users site if you have access. Otherwise the reccomend etc. buttons should be on old WC page.

Are we doing away with the 1-10 ratings? It appears to me that the click to rate 1 - 5 stars is taking its place. Hmmm not sure if I agree. I kind of liked the old rating system....Any chance we can have that back as a subscriber feature?

Great site and the look of it is getter better and better with each visit.

There are a lot less problems in Opera then before, if fact, right now I can only see one error - the Recent Forum Activity list on the left hand side is chopping off the first few letters. This picture shows it better Link

Don't know why I'm one of the last ones to be on the new site. Not very observant, I guess. But I think it's downright cool as a cucumber, slicker than 2 eels in a barrel of snot, killer, groovy, off the hook, off the chain, bad, nasty, sik. I LIKE IT!!
I'm used to the old site and this will take some gettin used to, though. But it all looks good. When I am in My Account, is there a way to get back to the WC homepage? If i click on homepage, it brings me to My Account home page.

Also, if you are stalking someone (he he!) is there a way to just add names to your list without having to go into their personal webpage to do it? Seems a bit clumsy. Maybe I'm not navigating properly.
