Can't Run deskscapes with windowblinds

I just purchased object desktop and everything installed correctly.  Deskscapes was working fine until I applied a windowblinds theme.  Now it says that desktop manager is not running although I've checked and it is.  These are the two programs I bought it for and I'm very frustrated.  I emailed support@stardock, but they aren't answering me.  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Here's my info

Try updating WindowBlinds using Impulse.  http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup.exe
Were you using the trial version of WindowBlinds prior to purchasing ObjectDesktop? Perhaps uninstalling the version you have now and rebooting then updating WindowBlinds through Impulse and rebooting will solve your issue.

Repost your System Info again after updating.

I was not using a trial version before this, in fact i had just reformatted my computer before the purchase. I'm using impulse now and it says there are no updates for windowblinds or deskscapes. I will reinstall windowblinds if that will help though. As far as support goes I have checked my email as well as the support website and there are no responses aside from the automated reply.

In Impulse click on the blue Stardock orb (top left corner) and check "Show pre-release versions". The latest build is 100. Perhaps this will fix it.

Unfortunately that didn't work either. I do appreciate all your help though. Do you know how I can get in touch with support since they haven't answered (it's been a week)? At this point I'm ready to just ask for my money back.

Please make sure that you have the Windows Vista theme enabled. To do so:

-Right click on your desktop, choose personalize.
-Click on themes
-From the drop down menu, choose 'Windows Vista", then click apply and OK. Once you do this you'll be able to reapply your WindowBlinds theme and it should allow DeskScapes to run.

If that still does not allow you to display .dreams, please try the following:

-Click the start orb
-Right click on Computer, select properties
-In the tasks pane on the left, select 'Advanced system settings'
-Click the settings button in the performance section
-Check 'Enable Desktop Composition' from the list
-Click apply, then OK

Thank you for replying. I've tried the first suggestion many times. As far as the second the box is already checked. Any other advice would be useful.
Thank you

At this point I'd say send us an e-mail at [email protected]. When you do, can you please follow this link in Internet Explorer:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/enumerate_startup.bat

save the file, run it, and attach the log file it generates on the desktop

Thanks,

Version 2.00.058 is breaking DeskScapes when used with WindowBlinds.I reported this on 05/14/08 and it still does not work.V2.00.055 was the last version that did not create a "dwm not running" error with WB's applied.3 tries at updating and I gave up.
Make v.055 available to everyone until it's sorted out or update it properly, the problem almost certainly will go away.Leave it like this and the customers will go away instead. (:(

Version 2.00.058 of DeskScapes works just fine with WindowBlinds build 100 on my system.  :)

You can set Impulse to back up previous versions befoer updating.  This might be a good choice going forward.

It also works on milksama's test machine, and probably on hundreds of other pc's as well, just not mine or a whole lot of other peoples.Similarly,IP allows me to skin my DVD drive icon at will.Does it do this for everyone else?Impulse has always worked for me.How about the rest of the world?
If they got DeskScapes after v2.00.055 the option to restore back to it is obviously unavailable.I'm just one of the lucky ones who caught it before I overwrote v.055.

its happened to me, all you have to do is go back into deskscapes click on dream you want and it will automatically start again, if not just click on dream and restart your computer that will work, this will happen periodically, so do either or both and it will work fine.

Please make sure that you have the Windows Vista theme enabled.

Read the quote above. Now,tell me,how is this possible with WindowBlinds applied?Windows Standard is applied automatically on applying a WB.(at least with HomeBasic, anyway)
Any attempt to change it to Vista Standard will appear to work but if you close the dialog box and reopen it,Windows standard is still applied.

WindowBlinds MUST be unloaded to apply Vista standard.Don't tell me to apply aero,Home Basic does not have it,yet 2.00.055 works perfectly.
Was this software re-written,either purposely or accidentally so that non-aero versions of Vista could not run Deskscapes? It sure seems that way.
My Vista Home Basic and WB-DS combination is not able to run with DS v 2.00.058.
Therefore,I'll keep what I have and shut up now. No-one was listening anyway.Ignoring

Since I make a very unbecoming troll, this will be my last word on DeskScapes.

I am having these same problems, seems to be a common thing. I just bought the software, and if Window blinds is on anything other that "aero", the DeskScapes wont load the codec. If it is on "aero" settings says "ussms" is not running (Desktop Window Manager). I bought the suite to use the programs together, not one at a time eh? I have read through your forums and tried each and every suggestion I have run across to no avail...

Help!

System:
Vista Home Basic x64
C2D E8400 @ 4.05ghz
Asus Maximus Extreme
4gb DDR3 1425
ATI HD4850
Raptors in RAID 0
Vista rating= 5.9 across the board :)
Thanks for any help!

Whoa, a system as powerful as that, with Home Basic x64??

Yep...been running basic x64 since last winter. Through the good times and bad...this is why I bought her this suite...as a spruce-up. I'd rather not cast her off for a shiny ultimate when she has been so good to me :D

I know it has been said many times before, but can someone find a link or resource for the previous version that reportedly WORKED?
