Star Creation

In my last game, I managed to research Star Creation. After I had it researched, I never was able to figure out how to go out and create a star. I know that when the technology gets researched, the game tells you that Star Creation technology can only make the small white stars, and not the 'good' yellow ones that are more-likely to have habitable worlds, and also that it could/would destroy other nearby systems. Well, I had a completely barren sector (no stars) which was surrounded by empty sectors on all four sides. I figured this would be an ideal place to try my hand at making a star, but I was never able to figure out how to get it made. I tried sending constructors over, but 'star creation' wasn't an option I had. I even tried sending a terror star over, figuring that maybe I needed something capable of destroying stars in order to make them. That didn't work either. So has anyone figured out how to make 'star creation' work, and if so, could you explain how you did it?

Thanks in advance,

Aww nuts! :( I was thinking of it's strategic significance, if creating a star actually worked, and did indeed destroy other star systems within it's sector when created, it could become a powerful tool in infiltrating a heavily influenced AI sector. You know, create a star in their most powerful sectir, taking out their 'best' resources by destroying the system(s) present there. Occasionally, the aftermath could be a habitable planet orbiting the new 'dwarf' star that was created. This could give a great foothold against an empire that has grown much stronger than you. Yeesh, I better stop here, I could go on and on about all the benefits I can dream up for this technology. None of it seems to make a difference being that Star Creation technology doesn't allow stars to be created. :(

Thanks for the info. :)
