Reading Gameinfo help

Hi guys I started poking around the gameinfo and I ran into a bit of trouble...I opened the files using notepad and it appears as one big mass of muddled text?
If there some special addon for notepad I gotta use? I downloaded some tutorials and they show the ship data in an orderly fashion? Mine is unreadable :( Help please if possible! Cheers

Here is what it looks like, funny enough I noticed that if I open up someone else's gameinfo (mods) I can view it normally? Any ideas anyone?

Download the Forge Tools from the download tab on the site. They'll contain the files in text format that you can edit.

They're normally in binary which is why it looks like that.
