Questions please

Your favourite enhancements and links.

Hello,
Firstly, I hope that I have the correct section of the forum to ask these questions. If not, please accept my apologies.
I am new here and would like to ask a couple of questions.

Firstly, I have WindowsBlinds, Desktop Sidebar and LogonStudio installed on my computer.
I was wondering what everyone else, who has been using these products for some time would recommend installing to enhance their computers.
What else could anyone suggest that I try.
I see that DesktopX is u
sed by some, but I am assuming this this cannot be used alongside WindowsBlinds, though I am sure that I will be corrected if I am wrong about this.

Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Secondly, I know that there are lots of skins and so on for WindowsBlind on the main WinCustomize website, but certain skins are not liked by everyone.
Is there any other websites out there where I could search for more skins.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your valuable time and talents.

Jay

IconPackager and CursorFX go a long way to improving the look of your PC.  DX works very well along side of Windowblinds.

diviantart.com has a WB section that is pretty good.

ObjectDock is a great program.I use the free version and it performs flawlessly.WC has loads of icons and backgrounds, many match up to a WB.The paid+version lets you recolor, have multiple docks, tabbed docks and more.
RightClick is another useful and attractive app. Many of those also tie to a WB or look good on their own.
DesktopX is definitely a great addition to your desktop.I use DXthemes with WB's w/Vista and keep coming back for more. :d

Hi Zubaz,
Thanks very much for responding. Much appreciated my friend.
OK, I just thought that both DesktopX and WindowsBlinds did pretty much the same job, but I guess I was wrong. Thanks again for the correction.
Could you please explain a little (for us newbie dummies to StarDock and such like LOL) just how DX works.
WindowsBlinds is a blast and very easy to use.

Again, thanks for the info.
Just off to DeviantArt to "play" LOL :D

It's deviantArt!

And adding over to everything Wizard and Zubaz said, you should really check out Object Desktop. It's a whole bundle of apps to customize and enhance your PC experience, and i's cheaper if you buy all the apps together :)

Learn more about Object Desktop.

Also, if you're looking for separate apps without the whole suite, learn more here

ObjectDock is a great program.

Alrighty then.Here are some real-world stats:I have a DXtheme running right now>Vista Home Basic,[email protected] w/1.5gb ram. 9,828kb ram@2% cpu.Hardly a toe-print.ObjectDock=1,828kb RightClick=1,352.I also have CFX,IP and Sound Packager on.
In other words, run any Stardock apps you want, modern computers can handle it with no strain.

Now,about DX.I'm fairly new to all of this also and have gotten a little(well,ok more than that) ;) help from the great people here at WC.The themes are pretty easy to install. There is a small learning curve as far as adding shortcuts and configuring a thing or two.Nothing major unless you really want to modify things.Widgets are fun little gizmos also.
If you need answers, all you have to do is ask here. The advice is much better than the spelling. ;)
I just got ODNT in April, now I can't imagine this PC without it. :D

I better stop,I'm sounding like a Stardock commercial.

HA HA !! A Stardock Commercial...Hmmmm...Now there's an idea LOL ;p
You seem to be running pretty much the same as me except that I am XP with [email protected] dual core processor, though you have a little more memory than me :SNIFF!: (Hopefully upgrading soon  )
Anyhow, wrong forum for PC discussions LOL.
Appreciate all the info my friend. So, I guess I should just go ahead and install and play around with it then HUH !! :CONGRAT:
Me also. Can't imagine my computer without the enhancements.
Cheers again, much appreciated and thanks for the giggles.
