host leaves. Game over...WTF

Played a game for a little over 2.3 hours, playing in a 5 star system game, had 15 planets and a whole system to myself, had just fired 2 of my 4 novalith cannons and then...... the host decides to leave since hes losing. game ends..... WTF?? is there going to be a patch soon where this wont happen anymore, its crap that one player leaves and well sorry guys, game over, sorry u busted ur ass to create a mighty empire but i g2g to bed.... my god, i cant even believe this online system, its shit, to start, no one can host, unless of course your a computer whiz and know how to change you IP addresses to allow incoming traffic and of course the fact that the HOST is the boss. he leaves, game over, sorry guys. i have played a total of 20 games so far on my player won 4 lost 3. the rest.... host left. I really hope ironclad steps it up soon and fixes this bullcrap, im sick of blowing 2-5 hours on games just to come to a final "Migrating" screen, anyways thats my rant. pretty pissed at the moment so im done for tonight, see ya guys.

....and once again I get to repeat myself! *sigh*

1. You don't have to be a "computer whiz" in order to host, you simply need to know how to read:

Networking and SINS

2. As has been pointed out many, many, many times on these forums now... Patch 1.1 will introduce new NAT-T type (NAT traversal) optional netcode so that those who can't (because they're at a university dorm) or those who won't (because they can't read or simply can't be bothered to expend some effort to compliment that of the volunteers who've assembled the information for them) follow the steps needed at the moment will then be able to host/play/migrate without the need for any more effort than clicking a button!

Life will soon be eutopian!

Oh and by the way. The 30 or so games I've played online since release-day (Feb 4th/08) I've played with people I know and who've followed my instructions. I've always maintained that since SINS is P2P (the host doesn't really "host" anything he just "syncs" all of the players together) all players should set themselves up as if to host, in an effort to ensure stable network communications. Patch 1.1 will of course negate the need to follow any of my instructions.

Following my own advice, I haven't had a mini-dump, failed migration or any other headache other than getting my ass handed to me....but then that's not a technical issue.  :D

Ideally, the game should migrate to another player's computer and then he would become the host. Sometime it works and perhaps it will always work once the 1.1 patch comes out.
