They Don't Last Forever

Ah well, nothing lasts forever. I was working with my digital camera today and all of a sudden it is no longer detected by the computer's usb port. Crap. It worked a couple of days ago.

I went through some troubleshooting steps and determined that the usb port on the camera has died. It's a  Canon PowerShot A75, and it'ss a few years old. Not exactly a top of the line model, but it wasn't the cheapest either. I guess I got my money's worth out of it sso I really can't complain.

I'll replace it when I can, until then at least I still have my small digital video camera to use for photos and video.  It doesn't take nearly as good pictures as the Canon, but it'll do for now.

I have an Olympus 3030 (about 8 years old), and the USB port died on me as well. So I just bought a card reader.

Yeah I was considering that option. Would be cheaper than buying a new camera. But then, this is only a 3.2 MP camera and I wouldn't mind having something with higher resolution.

Probably same as me, that was as good as they got back then without having to take out a second mortgage to pay for it.

My digital camera's battery door won't stay closed. So I have to Duct tape it. Still takes ok pics and doubles as a web cam.

Duct tape fixes anything (but a failed usb port).

I got a nice camera at WalMart for like $90 that's 8.3 MP.  It's more portable that our $500 camera, and I'm not afraid to beat it up.  The little thing takes pretty good pictures, too.  It only has 3x zoom, but if I want to zoom, I can use the expensive camera.  It takes videos, and I can take my lovely close ups of plants that I love.

It's a Fujifilm...I thought it was a pretty good deal, anyway...

Sounds ok, but what kind of storage capacity/medium does it have? In my experience a lot of the cheaper ones either lack storage capacity or don't accept memory cards.
