Jumping to another star system

How do you do it?

I have researched everything but can't figure out how to jump to another star system. Help!

Okay, complete the proper research under the non-combat research tree. Once it is complete, select some ships and right click another star (results best when selected star is not the one you're in). Also, make sure that you're not playing a one-star-system game.

That should about do it.
