The Political Machine Direct Download Problem

I purchased TPM2008 through Impulse, and on the download tab I downloaded it, but now it is just stuck at Available and I cannot interact with it any further, I cannot find the files it downloaded anywhere on my computer and I am very frustrated. this is my first time downloading something through Direct buy, is there anything I can do to play the game that I have already been charged for?

On the "My Games" tab of Impulse, you should see games that you have registration codes for. 

The games that you have already downloaded will say "Installed" or sometimes "Update Available", and the ones that you can download will say "Available".  If you right-click on a game that says "Available" you should be able to select Install.  You can also just select the game and press the "Install" button (which is in the lower right-hand corner).

If this doesn't solve your problem, maybe I am misunderstanding your problem.  In that case, I'd like to see a screenshot of your "My Games" tab of Impulse.

Well once I click Install, It goes through all the increasing percentages and stuff which looks like its "installing" and once its complete, it just says Available again. And nothing else. When I right click it after the "installation" It just has Pause Download grayed out, with Cancel Download under it. In the bottom right it has pause button grayed out and cancel download next to it. How can I play the game this is tripping me out? I've already like, paid for it

Yeah, we'd like you to be able to play it as well.  This is an unusual problem with Impulse that I haven't noticed anyone else posting about.  It sounds to me like the game is still installing (since there is a "cancel download" button), but you said that it has already completed.  Hrm.

Do you have vista?  If so, maybe Vista is somehow blocking you from actually installing the game.  You can try closing Impulse and then restarting it in "Admin" mode.  To do that, just right-click the Impulse icon on your desktop (or start menu) and select "Run As Administrator".

If that doesn't solve the issue, you should post your problem with Impulse in the Impulse forum over at this site.  Hopefully we can get you up and running ASAP!

I had the same problem and now the game has dissappeared from Impulse all together...what happened to my game? BTW it was the new Political Machine 2008.

I have this same problem.  The game shows "Available" and has the "download" icon in the lower right corner.  When I press Install, the Available button shows "starting," then goes back to "Available."  Then nothing happens.  What do I do to play/install this game?
