Problem with screen cut off

Just bought and installed the game, and it looks great, but when I open the game, I can only see the 'iron' out of ironclad, and this problem persists to the main menu, where it looks like the left hand side of the screen takes up the whole screen. My resolution is 1280x960. Any help you provide is greatly appreciated.....

Issues like that are generally due to refresh rate problems. If you can't see enough of the screen to change the refresh rate in-game (if you can get it into windowed mode at least, you'll be able to get the whole screen), you can set it manually in the user.setting file found in the following location:

Vista:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

Please note that some of these directories are hidden by default. To unhide them, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.
