It says that you can download it, but WHERE CAN YOU DOWNLOAD IT!?

I start up Stardock Central and it's nowhere to be found!

I have a serial # but no game to use it with!

PM08 is available via Impulse. I don't believe it's going to be on SDC (at all).

Then why would the email from Sales tell us to download stardock to get the game? This has been a horrible experience so far.

I'm sorry about the error in the e-mail message, I'll see if I can get someone to correct that. The problem with the serial numbers should be fixed now as well.

Just got word that the problem with the e-mails saying to use Stardock Central to download TPM2008 has been fixed. I'm sorry for your inconvenience.

Thank you. They should have unleashed you sooner.

Downloaded from Impulse, yay!

Now I've just got to figure out how to spend more than 100 points on the issues. If McCain can spend something like 500 points taking positive and negative positions on the issues, why can't I?

With only 100 points, I can barely take any stance on all the issues at all!

Yeah, that is not fair at all. Seems like the game is completely biased towards the Republicans. Even issues such as the Iraq war show independents in line with the republicans. Democrats and Independents are much more alike on key issues for 2008 (Economy, Iraq War, etc.).

I'm finding it to be very challenging and the programmers deserve a lot of credit for really doing their homework on the issues in 08!! The Iraq War and the Economy are HUGE issues in this game!

No, the game is not biased towards either. We had beta testers accusing us of being liberals and conservatives depending on what their ideology was.  I've had people swear you can't win with Mccain vs. Obama and vice versa.

Sadly I can't get past starting the game on my Gateway laptop.  The game starts, I see the intro movie and such, I pick my candidate, pick the opponent, get to a screen that seems to have a 'Turn' choice at the right corner of the screen but before I can click anything the screen flashes, flashes again, flashes again and then the audio starts stuttering and bang, Vista (32 bit, Home Premium) is Blue screen of death and rebooting.

I know the typical approach is be sure I'm running latest drivers for everything.  I am running the latest drivers available from Gateway.  Sadly Gateway doesn't provide newer video drivers for the built-in Intel 945GM graphics. The version I have provides the following information:

Hello sir, I'm having a great time with your game so far, but could you please explain to me why the computer gets unlimited (or at least, much more) issue points than I do? I can barely take any stances at all.

The download will not begin in Impulse - it sticks at "download starting" and nothing happens!

Terfpan: Can you post your debug.err? I'd like to see whats going on with your audio drivers. Plus, can you try turning off all the music and sfx to see if that helps?  Thanks!

Some of the pre-made candidates have beefier stats than the average player (we can't have your Average Joe better statisticially than Honest Abe).

You'lll want to take a limieted stance in the editing process, then magnify it while playing the game by taking out Ads, giving Speeches, ect.

Since the issue landscape always changes , its better to take stances on lots of issues than 'put all your eggs in one basket'.

BoogieBac, do you know when the game will be out in stores? I have looked online and cant find it anywhere. calling hasn't helped either. Do you have any ideas where and when to look. Thx. :)

do you need sound to play tpm 08

You can turn it off if you want.  You don't need the sound on in order to play the game.  Everything you need to know can be read.

Terpfan:

Please post your debug.err as boogiebac says, or email it to [email protected] with a description of the problem.

The Intel 945GM should be ok, as it does support shader model 2.0.  Although Gateway does not have newer drivers you may be able to check the Intel web site and get new drivers from there.
