expansion pack

Ive seen the videos of the sins beta on the net, it had so many different types of ships and i was disapointed that not all of the ships in the beta were put into the full game.

expansion pack

* all that stuff about grav well increase and planetary defences etc

* new ship( like the once in the beta )

ive also played a mod called sins plus bye Uzii and it add new types of planets and stuff, put new planets into the expansion.(oseianic, industrial, urban, toxic, forest and a ship gravyard).

and loads of other stuff like new buildings and storyline.

I'm not sure where you got that idea--all the classes in the beta are also in the final. The only differences in the ships are some placeholder graphics that were used in the betas, and upgraded for the final release.

I see what you mean, but i still think in the expansion there should be more types of capital ships with new abitities.

While not important to gameplay, I was wondering if it was possible to allow secondary colors to be chosen for a player's emblem in the expansion or a patch? For example, for the one that looks like a star with a wreath around it, it would be cool to be able to have a red or blue star with a yellow wreath or any number of other color combinations. Perhaps ship color could be the primary, have both colors, or be a different setting entirely. Also, would it be possible to have the name of a cap ship painted on the side of a ship so everyone could identify it in the game? Or would it do anything to slow the game down (more stuff for the computer to process)?

can we get sphere formation on the expansion pack? along with wall formation, kamikaze mission, scuttle while damaging nearby ship explotion, unman aerial vehicles, and ofcourse lessen the upgrade or special ability effects so we don't have to watch the whole screen lit up with stars and stripes without any battle scene distortion.

btw, will the intity thats chasing vasari will be on expansion pack? or sins of a solar empire 2: vasari confrontation.

also, how bout the possibility of having a solar system on every map with planets orbiting around the sun with moons and maybe real asteroid belts like the ones we see on our solar system?

there are planets out there with multiple moons, its just smaller compared to planets.

this game is so epic and free of exploiting rts-4x genre that you can put anything that has to offer in regards with rts-4x genre.

imagine the depth of this with no lag would really set a brick stone for future generation. i sure do would agree myself. :HOT:

also: how bout a special graphic ability to make missles really look like they are entering the ozone layer and watch it get smaller before hitting the planets/moons surface? that would really rock :d

sry this was off topic but its under sins expansion pack :)

Note: i asked about this when i was in the beta and i was told that it would make the game extremely slow because of all the crap going on.

who are u kidding? my game don't lag AT ALL.
get some more RAM or a better graphics card, they are honestly not that expensive (compared to previous years)

kyled its a suggestion with special tweaks, i do good on my games with no lags dude. you strike down on my post without even knowing what i meant. thats the idea to have those capabilities with little lag at all on every platform as i pointing out. you just probly read my post too quick and assumed that it's not possible. i see you have no technical side on you. we made small chips fit lots of bits and bytes, why not start on something like this.

read and understand before you open your opinion.

There definitely needs to be more capital ships, a campaign, new planet types, new ship types, and new research, and buildings. These are the main concerns of most sins players. Thanks in advance Stardock/IronClad :D P.S. Sins is great as it is, but the expansion pack will make it a lot better.

i would like to se more capital ships. also interchangable weapons, armor, shields, and prupulsion all in the tech tree also more in depth planetary interaction sevearl classesof capital ships at least 3 types of carriers cruisers that can colinize better more inventive plannettary deffences like a mobile space dock that builds ships has fighters/bombers and weapons and som sort of super weapns that realy kick butt

The game is static i hope the expansion makes all ships move while fighting and the z-axis fixed

I'd like for them to implemtent more realistic physics. Stars aren't only twice the size of planets. Asteroid belts make an oval, not a dot. Most systems have 2 stars that orbit each other. Gas giants are much more common. The only thing I wouldn't like is getting rid of sound, technically, that's the worst flaw of the game.

Moons would be nice but they'd be basically a graphic effect.

Unless, you made them extractor points or something, or gave bonuses to planets with moons.

Despite everyone's request, I would not like to see new capital ships, instead one special capital ship per each race that would be the defined flagship for them. I would actually prefer to see the frigate and cruiser classes fleshed out a little bit more, at the moment it seems primarily based around just damage dealing, I would like to see a couple of classes more based around either subterfuge (I.E. Being able to disable defences for a brief amount of time, or triggering a small emp bomb in amongst an enemy fleet) as well as detection vessels.

Another small idea would be an expanded diplomacy, as I remember someone quoting "acting like a lapdog" when describing this portion of the game, I would like the ability to ask them for resources, or demand assistance when assaulting a planet. Hell, maybe the ability to force people to surrender their planets willingly through threats.

Just a couple of thoughts.

If you go on youtube and type in sins of a solar empire beta and look through some of the videos you will see that in the beta there were diferent type of capital ships. I know these may just be older versions of the ones seen in the full game, but still my point still stands. these ships could be made into new capital ships or crusers with new abbilities and weapons.

I know people say that if there was a ship builder in sins it would be to time consumming but i think i would be a cool bonus which could be added to the map maker perhaps.

I think that for those with high end computers who play massive maps they should make a Battlestation that is capable of delivering MASSIVE firepower and destruction. Much more so than any of the current captial ships. A ton of armor and hull points and it's size should much larger than any of the orbital structures or captial ships. However this unit should be available only for offline play...or just single player games unless all players could some agree to have it in their online match. Don't know how that would work.

I think that there should be a "mothership" or flagship for each player as well. Out of these there should be several types available to choose(e.g. say one that is mainly for massive area of effect attacks with slightly less armor or hull points, another for massive strike craft support and offensive augmentation abilities for friendly ships, another with defensive augmentation, and of course one with direct combat capabilities able to take more punishment than any other kind of ship in the game and deal devastating amounts of it as well. Give it an massive direct damage ability that kills any ship or structure aside from a capital ship ship, but with a huge cooldown time...these are just ideas that I would like to see put to work. I agree that there should be another cruiser or frigate type or so in there, but I would recommend only one or two more types of capital ships per race.

This is just me though. Ship builder does sound like a cool idea...placement of weapons and such would provide much customization to the game.

They've already stated they don't have a ship builder because it would take too much time.

I think this is a great idea, they should have many special abbilities and a limet of 1 or 2 per player.

I love sins but the game get's repetitive, example: 1.Colonize 2.Research 3.Fight. This is a good formula but there needs to be more variety in it since when looking at the colonizing area there are only 4 colonizable PLANETS and asteroids are useless for credits and die quick. When looking at the research area most players play the same way over and over for example, (not me talking) "Well when I play first I do this research then this then this then this," and so on. When looking at fighting there aren't that many ships and some I never even build because even though they are great having other ships built in their place are better. By this I mean I would rather build more light ships in place of support ones that heal ships since they are cheap fast to build and can be built in greater numbers. I never bother using colonization ships like the missionary vessel (the ships that colonize other planets I forgot their names) since I just build one or two capital ships that have the ability to colonize and they also do damage. I only build a missionary vessel etc, if I want to capture extractors. I would rather see more frigates and cruisers than capital ships as well since my fleets usually only have the max of 1 of each type of cap ship and the rest is mostly light frigates, anti-fighter bomber ships and heavy cruisers along with the long range. As you see that's only 4 out of the at least 10 types of ships in the game that I use. I might not be good at the game in some peoples eyes so my strategies might not be so good but that's how sins is to me and many others who play the game casually. There should be research that let's you colonize gas giants since anti-grav must be a reality in the future and gas giants should have big population since their giants. I also agree with some of the posters that the scale of the game is off. Stars should be 2 or 3 times bigger than they are now. Planets should be able to come in a random size, example, some planets spawn bigger some planets spawn at a smaller size but this is purely random. Gas giants should be twice as big as they are now since they are huge or maybe 1.5 times bigger. Moons should also be added to the game, not only for graphics but for gameplay. The way I picture moons should be is a moon should go around the planet for sure but act like a planet as well. By this I mean that you should be able to research something that is called moon colonization and then you can go to the moon with a ship colonize it and treat it like a planet but on a smaller scale, example, you can click on them, upgrade them with planet upgrades like exploration and population, and they have all the looks that a normal planet has like the cars going around them and the planet elevators. Of course moons would have much less population but still more than an asteroid and moons would be used for credits only since the planet gravity well has the resource asteroids in them already. This would also work well with the random planet size generator I mentioned above since the bigger the planet the higher chance to get moons and the higher chance to get more of them. A max moon count should be set though so you don't end up with like 10 or 20. Rings would also work great with the random size generator to since the bigger the planet the better chance that you might get rings. Rings in the expansion might serve a purpose as well for example. You could research something called ring salvager and once researched click your planet, click salvage rings and once done you might find crystal or metal in the rings. The ring would then give a constant trickle to crystal or metal just like a resource asteroid. I would like to see terraforming but I know this would mess up the gameplay so I guess you should keep it out. However if oyu did add it in here are my ideas on what it could do. You research terraforming and there could be 3 levels to it each speeding up the process of terraforming the planet. Once researched you go to planet upgrades click terraform and it would do just that. A gas giant could not be terraformed but a volcanic and ice planet could be terraformed to a desert planet then terraform the new desert planet into a terran planet. The benefit of doing so would be to increase population to get more credits. Terraforming would be a very high level research choice and extremely expensive to balance the game so that players would only terraform very important planets. I would love to see more variety in the planets as well like seeing the toxic and oceanic planets in the expansion from Sins Plus by Uzzi as those types are very realistic and would add more variety. Other planets from his mod though please keep out as they aren't realistic and some are just stupid like the old naval base planet. (no offense Uzzi) More textures for planets is a must too since whenever I play a big map I see multiple textures for the planets that are repeated most noticeably in the terran and desert planets. It would also be nice to see an ad-on for the graphics of planets like it was done for the stars to add the boiling effect. For planets you could make the clouds on the terran planets move very slowly all over the place and for volcanic you could ad a very slow boiling effect to the lava textures. For toxic planets you could make the purple clouds move and for oceanic I can't think of anything but there must be something to add to them. It would be nice to see more stars as there are no dwarf or giant stars as the stars in the game are all mid sized. There needs to be more colors such as purple, white and different textures for the current ones so that yellow stars for example could have a brighter and darker texture as well to resemble shades. Most of the things I've listed are for graphics and a few for gameplay but I hope I've given some good ideas. It would be nice to see a new race added the one that comes to mind would be the race that was chasing the Vasari.

I understand this would be a huge revamp to the game but it would make it so much better and funner to play.

I really hope someone from Stardock or Ironclad reads this so it might be added into an expansion. Thanks for reading.

personally i think sins has plenty of capital ships: a carrier, a close combat, an artillery and 2 support capitals should be enough for anyone;P

what i would like to see far more than that is a revamp of the combat system so as to bring some real tactics to that side of the game. so far space combat consists of 2 masses of ships flying toward each other and blasting each other to pieces, the only tactics involved for the player is which order to kill the enemy ships in and when to use abilities.

what i would like to see is a combat system which forces you to maneuver for position and which discourages you from just ignoring certain types of ships whilst you fly past and kill other types.

the ability to set up squadrons within fleets that you could select individually and give formation instructions to individually so you can design squads to perform different roles in a combat would be nice.

applying artificial penalties and bonuses to simulate combat situations would help too. for example if you set up a squad of heavy cruisers as a front line picket squad designed to block enemy access to your weaker artillery ships at the back then any ships trying to shoot past them at your artillery ships would do so at a penalty to simulate your picket squad intercepting and blocking some of the the enemy fire. equally that picket squad would get bonuses to attacking any ships that just ignore them and fly through their formation.

flanking bonuses would be another example, if a formation is being surrounded and fired upon from multiple directions they should get defensive penalties.

in all honesty i have little idea about how difficult it would be to implement these ideas, i wouldnt have thought it would be too difficult to allow us to assign ships to squads within a fleet for ease of selection but the rest i imagine could be quite tricky. however i would really like to see a space strategy game look at the combat side of the game with a view to moving away from the formless dogfights with no real sstrategy involved that are so prevalent in these games at the moment.

Perhaps directional armor?

THIS IS WHAT SINS EXPANSION PACK NEEDS

* Larger gravity wells or even better just open space. Space in sins fells very tight and you should be able to choose when u want to jump not just at the edge of a gravity well.

* Better ship detail (up close the details on ships and planets are not great)

* There needs to be more iteams on the black market such as buyable ships and equipment.

* more races or extentded depth to currant races (i.e that race that hunted the vasari)

* More ship abilities

* Flagships/Motherships ( Huge ships larger that any other in the fleet with many special powers)

* More buildings(i.e global defence station)

* More types of planets

More colours to choose from. the currant colours are a bit cartonish(bright). more dark colours would be nice.
Ya can turn off the bright colors from the effects menu... but I do agree with you on the more planet types ( I've got 7 deadly sins, da mod uzii is working on with danman... you should get it, it has all the stuff ur askin for, includin da more planets and races, and flagships...)

This game is great but it would also be nicer if we had a bit more customization to the ships and stuff... y'kno make our own race, weapon customization, flagship abilities, da game would never get repetitive because everyone online would have their very own style of play.
