I can't travel from start to star

Hmmm...strange. Are you absolutely SURE you've researched the Long-Range jumps (wormhole navigation is only good if you have wormholes)? It took me a while to figure out that there are IMPLICIT phase lanes between stars, but the UI should automatically command your ship to go to your star and make the hop from there.

Yes. Just double checked. I have long range jump as 1/1. Only obtained it a few short games minutes ago (about 10 game minutes). Tried to get the ships stations at the wormhole to the next star, but the movement mouse pointer turns to a red X over any of the stars. Selecting a star anyway gets me that message. What might be wrong here? Thanks!

You can't jump to other stars from wormholes...

...but it SHOULD realize that in the game and autopath you from your current gravwell to your local star, then to the distant star. Sounds like a small priority bug where the code does this:

IF TARGET <> WORMHOLE
"NO VALID TARGET"
EXIT
END IF
ELSE IF TARGET AT OTHER STAR
PLOT JUMP THROUGH LOCAL STAR
...
instead of

IF TARGETING GRAVWELL
IF AT WORMHOLE
IF TARGET AT OTHER STAR
PLOT JUMP THROUGH LOCAL STAR
ELSEIF TARGET <> WORMHOLE
"NO VALID TARGET"
END IF
...

could be that the path to the star and\or path through the worm holes havent been charted yet. without the phase lanes being charted by scouts or w/e then the ai couldnt auto nav.

Thank you for the replies, I beleive I understand what may be wrong now. The Galaxy map I am using (which is a mod) has no paths to the local star. From looking at the original map, those paths were there. I will correct that and see what I can learn -- Thanks!
