You pretend your space empires/nations/federations/alliances are like real life (in what we would imagine) and so that there's discussions and what not ingame to negotiate peace treaties, wars, etc. Like how in real life you don't just walk into someones yard and kill them all (like normal matches), there's consequences to your actions instead (like real life). It's almost like playing tech/econ until someone decides to be the evil empire and take over everything and then a good guy alliance tries battling them. This is all hypothetical examples..there's countless types of rp matches possible for space rts's. Especially one in SINS. It also requires a huge map, alot of time and a good imagination. But bottom line its like pretending the galaxy is real and you are all independent nations. Think of star trek, star wars, star gate, battlestar gallactica, whatever sci-fi you watch. Most of these matches have preset rules and names for everything.
