What a boring ending! zzz

I just did an 8hr gameplay and the only thing the developers could come up with for a victory was ....... A victory screen , would've been nice to of had an end cutscene for each faction!

I was like meh was that it :(

I was not impressed with the victory scenes either. A quality ending is something that makes a good game feel like a great one.

Not only are the current scenes underwhelming, but the transition from gaming to victory scene is jarring. In my opinion the action should stop and fade out when victory is acheived. The instantaneous transition to the victory scene, and the ongoing combat noise during the scene, detract from the "moment of glory" feeling.

Hopefully this will be addressed in the expansion. Even a 10 second clip with some sort of music/narrative/motion (similar to intro movie in style perhaps) would be sufficient.

the game is just to long winded, and most of that time your freaking out because theres no way you can deffend all your teretory and attack at once, which creats some back tracking, the fact that you have to capture almost everyplanet is a total b****
i wish we could make more ships on big maps, i curetnly in the middle of a 10 player ffa with over 250 planets, and i keep losing my planets as i gain them

Then, quite simply, this is not the game for you.

I don't think this is an adequate response to a legitimate criticism. It is well known and established that sins was released early for commercial reasons, and things such as 'end game sequences' and a single player campaign would have pushed the release back further and hit profit margins, or so say some involved in the development and publishing of sins.

This is not a single player campaign game

This is like complaining about the story of UT3 (or UT2004) .

The game designed for online gaming .

I always think that the longer a game takes to finish, the more spectacular the end sequence needs to be. I remember when I finished UFO: Afterlight (Great fun game) which took hours and hours to finish, and was great fun doing so, ended with a rather dull scene that just reflected that Mars was now terraformed. I was hoping it would also show my allies there with me as well, if I had them.

He did in fact not complain about a single player campaign (Lords know where you came up with that idea). The talk was of the end sequence.

I believe Retro was responding to Retribution_666's off-topic and over generalized complaining.

i dont buy or not buy a game depending on the end game screen
that would be retarded

I wouldn't say that. It was originally scheduled for release in 2007 and was pushed back past the Christmas buying season.

I think it would have been nice to have an image montage with a voice over, like the intro.

Im sure they will give us some victory and other cinematics for expansion.

How about we stop complaining about end scenes on forums and play sins miltiplayer? Honestly, there aren't enough people playing online. Support the game that your conversing about!

A boring ending....Well the best thing to do then,is never stop playing! Just Keep Playing or start another game! ;-D Or even venture into the alternate dimensions of multiplayer Sins! I havent tried this yet, but I will eventually. I remember losing a lot when I played Total Annihilation online. So, fresh meat here guys! Lol.

I would suggest that the original Half-Life had one of the worst endings of all time. Then, if you played Unreal Tournament III, that's got an awful ending as well. Then, I would put Sins. Above that, I would put the ending to Windows Solitaire.

A problem I have with Sins isn't so much the lacklustre ending screen, but the endgame in general. There seems to come a point in mid-game where I know for sure me and/or my allies are going to win or lose. After that point, little seems to affect the outcome of the game. In the games I have played, there is not much tension to the end game. Even in Civilization, if you know you are beaten, you can still hang on and make your mark in the history books. Sins ending to me is more like binary: 1=faultless victory, 0=humble defeat, with little in between.

Of course, your mileage may vary, and I am only speaking of single player game play. Still, Sins is definitely cooling off on my hard drive. At least it wasn't expensive to buy.

I have to agree the ending is a bit sudden and lacklustre, kinda just springs out on you (BAM the end!). That said though, surely the fun is in the playing!?, and as Johnnny51 says you can just keep playing or start another game (the latter is what i tend to do). There are very few games i have ever played to the very end so cant make much of a comparison.

Are you serious? I consider it one of the greatest, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

But I suppose opinions can vary :P
