How do I publish pictures through Live Writer?

I've tried to insert pictures in my posts before I publish them, but every time Window Live Writer displays a window saying that the pictures could not be uploaded because the weblog doesn't support it.

What gives? I've seen many images in posts from people I know that use Live Writer. Can anyone help?

Do I have to do something extra that'd allow me to insert picture and be able to post them?

LiveWriter allows image posting two ways:

  1. Post directly to your blog (if the service supports image posting)
  2. Post images to a web-accessable location via ftp

JoeUser does not currently support direct image posting.  So what you need is somewhere to store your photos online, that can be accessed via FTP.

To elaborate on Zoomba's taciturn post, use photobucket or imageshack, and upload your images to those sites.

Then when you want to put them in your post with Live Writer, click "Insert Image", click the tab up top to the "Insert Picture from the Web", dump the URL for your newly-hosted picture there, and (ta-DAHHH!) you've got it.

Magic, I tells ya.

I would also recommend using Flickr.  There is a plugin available for Live Writer that will allow you to retrieve the images from your Flickr account very easily.
