(says to himself) Oh man Oh man...try not to be a smart a**...try not to be a smart a**... X-(

It would be humongously, hugely helpful to know what you want to post and where. The answer to your open ended question could be as simple as "putting them in an envelope, affixing the proper postage and dropping them in a mailbox"... although even I, with mind as solid as a steel sieve can safely assume this is not your intention.

IF... I'm guessing here, mind you... you want to post a picture in a response, the easiest way is to upload it to photo bucket. Photo bucket will give you premade link addresses to the pictures, it's just copy and paste. I open two separate browser windows or tabs, so I can go back and forth without losing my place.

IF you want to do something else... PLEASE be specific. My crystal balls are in the shop, and my mind reading skills are horrible... at least according to my wife.

Um... yes there was. I don't mind being the one who takes the wrap for saying what needs to be said. Even after two additional posts there is still no additional info as to what pictures you are trying to post and where.

I am more than happy to assist you in any way I can, but neither I nor anyone else on these forums can decipher your need based on the posts you have made.

Please let me (us) know what you are trying to do and where you are trying to go and I (we) will do my (our) best to help you get there... K? :D

Try mediafire.com. People can download pics, replays, videos etc right from there. And you can put a "share" link in your posts. One of my files for an example: http://www.mediafire.com/?nhgigbyfdlg
It's a replay. You can also create a photo gallery.

I personally use photo bucket... It handles any pic pretty well, and gives you all the tags you need to put it on a post here without having to type anything.

The account is free and pretty easy to set up. I used alot of "information" I made up to register... From there there's a box on the left for you to create an Album.

Once in the Album, the upload pics part is right there at the top. It will have some bars with a "browse" button by them. Click the browse, navigate to the pic you want to upload on your computer and "open" it. It will load the name and file structure in the bar for you. When you have the pics ready you want to upload, hit upload.

By default, resize pics will be on, should be the 800x600 setting which is all a 15' monitor can handle so it's a good size. You may have to change this, as it can do funky things to your pics... I went in and set 1meg as the limit, so whatever i upload is what I'll get.

After the pics are uploaded, click on the first one and go through them to make sure they look OK. If they do, you're set. If not, change your pic limits in the properties and upload again until you are happy with what you've got.

To make putting them into posts easier, I open a 2nd window, not just a separate tab. (I use FireFox) I'll have the post open in one window and the pic open in the other. I type what I want, then when I reach the spot in the post i want the pic to appear I stop, hit enter, type a blank space with the space bar and hit enter again. Then I go to the other window and look below the pic I want to use...

There will be 4 or 5 address bars below the picture. Some forums use Image tags, it will have the [IMG] at each end. Some use the URL tag, usually has an "http" in front of it. Here's a pic that shows the HTML tag in use, which is the only one of the four that works in the forum here:

Photobucket

The actual tag looks like this: <*a* h*r*e*f*="http*:*//*s64*.*photobucket*.*com/albums/h175/antracer/Christmas07/?action=view¤t=AlexKazoo.jpg" target*="_blank">Photobucket<*/*a*> without the stars...

A few things about pics and sizing etc.: The "preferred" format is jpeg. It's advantage is compression, although the more compressed it is the crappier it looks. If you can find a forum that will let you use it, png is a decent format. It's actually used in games... it keeps the pic pretty. bmp can be used too, but it's big file wise. Why should you worry about it? File size directly impacts speed of the person seeing the pic. No big deal on my broadband, but a very big deal for someone stuck on a slow server or dialup... I try to keep images between 20K and 100K. 100K is still a little tough for dialup, but is manageable. This lets me keep the 800x600 size but at a reasonable file size. There are enough freeware paint/photo programs out there that will let you open your pic and size it and save it as a jpeg. I'd recommend finding one, as windows paint is not the best for jpeg.

As is always the case with these things, they are changing even as I type this...

Hopefully enough to get you going without getting you lost !

PS: Only had to edit this 5 times to get it to come out right... I miss my model forum. The [IMG] tags are SOOOO much easier to deal with.
