Do not look at this, it has been canceled.

Had a stupid idea that could never come true.

Well now, as the title says, would anyone like me to put out a mod containing weird al yenkovic star wars songs? It makes for a hilarious time on the menu. I put a remake of eminem's "Slim Shady" song in called "My Name Is Darth Vader." Weird Al made this and it is crazy. Also, got others like "Livin La Vida Yoda", "Pretty Fly For A Jedi", and "The Saga Begins." Just reply if you want it. I'll be sure to upload it as soon as I've worked out the kinks. (Yoda comes flyin in and starts rappin to a rythm!) Never mind, turns out that it is illegal. Sorry!

Thats what we would call "illegal." Sorry but technically you'd be distributing that music for free, which is "stealing" from the people who made that music. If you legally own that music you can put that into your copy of sins, but you're not allowed to distribute it. I would just suggest turning the music down to 0 in sins and run a media player in the backround.

I have one question though. How come other mods I've played on several games have generic music. I've played some mods, one for SOASE that contained generic star wars music from the movies and games. How is that not illegal? I didn't see anything that said lucasarts gave them permission to do so. And how can people insert ships from different firms. For instance, evillejedi has been working on a mod for SOASE and been inserting star wars stuff. Once again, I can not find anything that said he had permission to do so. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. (Laws are like grass, they are straight one moment, then bend to new shapes when the wind blows.)

you should be old enough to distinguish the difference thelifealchemist, the mods apart from music are created by the modders, they are not stealing them from another game.

as for any musical score I believe you to be correct if they are indeed using music not created by themselves.

but that only proves that even a stopped watch can be correct at the right time.

Whoa! You're actually bringing my age in on this. And I wasn't talking about anything other than music. I know that models used in the mods are(hopefully) created by the people who created the mod. I guess I wasn't clear enough on what I meant. What I was saying when I mentioned ships was the fact that I do know of mods that used numerous models created by other modders. On a technicality, isn't that illegal if you didn't obtain permission from the original modeler? And don't say that they just didn't put the name on it. That would still be illegal. (Modding is a crime, it's just such a small crime that no one cares.) That little quote came from an internet security officer I know. The only game I know of that gives explicit permission to change anything within the game is SOASE. And once again, you're bringing my age in on this! That is a low blow, a very low blow. How can you be sure that the age posted on my account is my real age. On the internet, anyone can be anyone they choose.

On a side note, I am new to the modding community and I am still trying to figure out all the rules and stuff. If I make a mistake, I will gladly take advice. I thank Thrawn2787 for telling me what he did. And I especially appreciate that he did not bring my age in on it. I am experimenting and that is why I post all of my ideas before actually submitting them.

WHAT!? im not callin anyone names or nothin, im just puttin emphasis on a word.

but why, did u feel adressed or something or do u see ****in' as a crime?
Yeah, I kinda did! If you want to put emphasis on words, figure out a more polite way to do so. Besides, what you said, "let em sue," was stupid. You're an IDIOT even if you meant it as a joke! I tell ya, such bad influences in the world today. IF I followed that advice, I'd being paying money I ain't got.

Hello, my post. I am only here to respond to others' comments. And no, I am not a person who wants to be politicly correct, I just don't like people using language, and I don't appreciate remarks that could cause problems for others. I live in the U.S., and here, everyone is in the system. We can be tracked quite easily, for security and law purposes of course. But that is all I'm going to say, the argument apparently is going no where. By the way, thanks Yarlen for responding! Love you guys! :CONGRAT:
