Back To My Summer Look

Now that warm weather seems to be here to stay I have shaaved off the Winter beard and am back to my normal Summer look. I did keep the Fu Manchu style moustache but am otherwise clean shaven again. It'll take me a few days to get used to myself in the mirror again.

Mom seems to be doing well with her recovery from the surgery. They're sending a nurse twice a day to help maintain her tracheotomy tube and with the feeding (liquid diet). I'm glad a professional is coming around to prevent infections or other complications and to ensure she's recovering well.

She's obviously frustrated with being unable to speak but she'll adjust in time. She has a voice synthesizer that she has to learn to use and she's been practicing with it. It'll take some time and I'm sure it'll be easier once the pain in her throat improves.

Otherwise things are pretty normal. I got about 10 hours of sleep last night trying to catch up on my rest after en extendedd tour on the road. Amazing how tiring that becomes after a while.

I'm working on getting the laundry done and basically just loafing around the house. I really have no motivation to go out anywhere right now. I'm enjoying just being at home.
